You ever miss a pit call because the radio got drowned out, or only realize after the stint that TheCrewchief had been trying to yell at you?
I've been sketching a way around that; an open protocol where the software and hardware all speak the same language.
The idea is that if one channel gets noisy, another can back it up — like a wheel rumble or HUD flash, or LEDs confirming “box now” or “yellow flag.”
(yes I know, it can be done already; my goal is to simplify how, make it easier to implement/translate/transfigure the signals involved)
I don’t have a build or demo yet, just a write-up of the pain points and a rough spec shape. The whole point would be vendor- and platform-agnostic; Logitech, Thrustmaster, Fanatec, Moza, DIY, StreamDecks, whatever (maybe even a proper HUD using Meta's new Display Glasses, in the long run).
I'm curious if league admins or firmware folks, and devs in general here see the same pain or would be interested in exploring the concept further.
Could this kind of handshake system actually help in races?
Docs if you want the long read; see attached files.
Also, this is NOT a sales pitch, I'm just looking for people's opinions and checking for interest/constructive discussion.
