Measured Acceleration and Top Speed Tests

Alright so I guess its obvious to everyone who's had a chance to browse the GT6 menus for a few minutes that there is no measured speed test / ranking feature anywhere in the game yet. Unless I’m missing it in some obscure sub menu somewhere that I haven’t found yet, in which case I would gladly give you the beautiful blue Honda Fit I was forced to buy as a thank you present if you could tell me where it is.
But of course, I see no way to gift cars either at the moment, so that will have to wait too.

But seriously guys, am I the only person out there who enjoys testing official 0-60mph, 1/4 mile and 1000m times? Nothing beats track laps for determining the overall effectiveness of a tune, I know.
But sometimes I just want to know cold hard measured acceleration stats.
I don’t think this is unreasonable.

I was put out when I had to wait so long in GT5 for this feature. Felt incomplete without it, seeing how long its been a part of Gran Turismo's history, dating back to the good old PS One days with GT1 and GT2.
It was honestly a total shock to see it missing then.

But I cut Polyphony some slack with not seeing it in the first half of GT5’s life, with the understanding that they hadn’t built the Special Stage Route X Test Course yet. But SS Route X is in GT6, so there is really no excuse for this not being a day one feature in the game.

One thing I’m wondering. There is a tools menu with only one option.
Could this possibly be a hidden unlockable later on? Or a planned addition for the near feature?
Anyone been gaming hard all day and able to give some input on this possibility?

And if not, I'm still interested in hearing your thoughts on this not being a day one feature for two GT releases in a row now. And on any buzz you've been hearing on when we might expect it to arrive, either as a free update or paid DLC.

I have posted about this a couple times both here and Neogaf, I am surprised how little it is being mentioned. It is a huge omission for me as it is one of my most used features in the GT series.

Considering SS Route X is included in GT6 I can't believe the tests are not, considering the track is pretty much made just for testing.

Good to know I’m not alone on this here. I’m not hearing much online about it either yet.

From the moment I saw that Special Stage Route X was a confirmed track in GT6, I was absolutely certain that the speed test feature would carry over with it. Now after seeing that it's been left out at launch yet again, I can’t help feeling like it's a totally unacceptable omission that leaves the game feeling incomplete, even with the over 1200 cars and 100 track layouts.

I’ve always just assumed a 0-100km/h run, quarter mile time and top speed measurement to be something car enthusiasts took very seriously and something that was a big part of the whole driving experience/simulation.
In a game franchise so passionate about car performance and realism, I can't see any logical reason why Polyphony Digital has been treating it as such an after thought the past few years.

Have there been any updates on whether or not PD will include this in GT6?

I remember SSRX was incorporated into GT5 after the community clamored for it; it makes no sense why they would omit the test track again.

Since PD continues to assert that GT is a “Driving Simulator” more than a racing “game,” I wish they would stick to their roots and include the test track in every iteration instead of making us plead for it!

There are a lot of posts about content "missing" from GT6 (cars, tracks, other features). Remembering what PD did with GT5, I'm confident that we will see a LOT more GT6 content made available through updates. It will just take some time and we need some patience, which always seems to be in short supply.

The thing is I appreciate PD working hard in trying to get this game out as fast as they can (appease the GT masses) and I understand by doing that, content will be missing or areas are to be improved.

I like a system whereas they can release to you a game, and even though its quite not finished, you bought the full game, and you can watch it grow better and better with time, with updates that improve the game quality being free of charge.

When you buy tuning parts (forget what it was) the description says something along "this might be a good choice for 0-400m tests" - so I guess they are coming in a patch. Could be a simple left-over but imho they are coming.
