For years, MekTek.net has been the central point for online distribution of MechWarrior 4 expansion packs. Now they can provide the core game free to the fans as well. haha, you must not be familiar with mechwarrior . The bigger mechs are not as mobile. the smaller mechs are more limber and quicker, usually. The large mechs are more like tanks and not gundams.
Its fun when you're actualy playing and trying not to die. Using your surroundings and working with your team not to die or get flanked.
My brother used to play these back in the 80's/early 90's.. bot the tabletop version and PC version oh well, maybe I'll give this a try once my new rig is finished.
Slow and boring? You've never been in an arena deathmatch in a light and nippy Nova surrounded by 100 ton mechs that could blow you to smithereens with one Alpha Strike.
I miss the Mechwarrior 2 exploits. In arena combat, nothing was a match for my Magic Dragon Atlas build (inspired by the US Army suppression fire gunships... loaded with nothing but ultra-light machineguns, ammo and a ton of jump jets).
yeah its supposed to be all the campaigns, all the mechs, including all of the addons. Thats a ton of content for free. Plus, there's some good mods for mechwarrior that will probably be released around the same time.
I have all the Mechwarrior 3 and 4 expansion packs...now if they could release an optimized Mechwarrior 3 with higher texture detail and resolutions and higher monitor resolution support
