So.. I found my old MW: DA stuff a couple weeks ago, and I've been re-hooked. Does anybody else play this totally addictive clix game? The computer games?

I've gotten a bad habit of taking a Dremel to a few of my units and giving them "battle damage" I'll post a few pics tomorrow.
 
I never really liked the Dark Age stuff, but I was a fan of Battletech for a long time. To this very day, I still think Mechwarrior 2 is one of the greatest games ever made.

I still want to like Battletech, but Wizkids and Microsoft are making it very hard on me... :indiff: ...with the whole Dark Age thing and the Mechwarrior game series on hold, there's really nothing to be excited about anymore.

The best I can hope for is a 3D, high-quality PC game version of the original tabletop game, and I was actually on the development team of a game just like that...but it has been effectively canned. :indiff:
 
I was never old enough to appreciate the CBT stuff. I do agree that WK has really screwed up several Mechs, but I think I read that that's because of copyrights.

They've really gotten it with the Rifleman IIC, but they've screwed up the Atlas.. twice.

I loved MW4, but didn't care too much for 3. I've heard that 2 is far better than 3, and maybe even beter than both of them combined.


WK is putting clan names on the bases of a few mechs in a collector's set, though.



Why are the games on hold? MW4 Mercenaries was good fun! But, I still want more.. It's been 4 years.
 
I love Mechwarrior4: Mercenaries. Me and my brother have it and the two packs you can get for it. It's a fun game to just get in, make a mech and go beat the liven crap out of some other mech that needs the face remodel.

And the reson you don't see new mech games is that the people who made mechwarrior games disaperd.
 
And Microsoft is doing nothing but squatting on the license for Mechwarrior games, instead choosing to pump out a simplistic MechAssault game every now and then, leaving both PC gamers and Mech-sim fans with nothing to play.
 
Yeah! they just left us hanging with Mercenaries! I want more! You want more! Why not? Battletech has been a staple of various types of gaming for twenty years. Why not spread it even more?
 
yeah man... what we need is a good mech game that takes advantage of dx9 :p. i thought mech warrior 4 and the previous games were great...
 
I loved MW4. The storyline was well thought out, and it had some really fun missions. Plus, a Daishi loaded with only Clan Machineguns can be quite fun.
