Asking what Meditation is like is like asking what food tastes like, there are so many different levels approaches to it. Meditation can be like a power nap, where you just clear you thoughts of everything and focus inwardly....all the way to out-of-body-experiences (not one to back that up though....)

I believe meditation, in moderation is a good thing for the mind, body and spirit .

i'm not sure about meditation but on my train ride to school, I put on my headphones since they seal out the outside noise, put up some trip-hop or some rock instrumentals, sit back, close my eyes and let my mind drift wherever the music takes me.... It's very relaxing and is probably the closest thing to sleep I'll able to manage on the train

Excellent. Please explain to me how the mind and the body are different. Please explain what you mean by "spirit".

You sound like a Bath and Body Works Commercial.

I believe that one should meditate to clear your mind. By meditate, I don't mean cross your legs and hum. I mean closing your eyes and relaxing and trying to clear your mind of everything.

Actually, I meditate at least once a day (depends on how much stress I have to deal with). I can't sit crosslegged, so I just sit comfortably, with nothing pressing up against me, if possible.

I pause and I listen to the pause. I feel myself pausing, and contemplate that pause, and the power of a moment of my life paused.

I breathe in and I listen to the sound of me breathing in. I feel myself breathing in, and I think about nothing more than breathing in. I am now contemplating the power of a breath inhaled, the amazement that life occurs because I am breathing on my own. Fuel that we call "air" is powering me.

I hold my breath, and listen to the sound of me calmly, easily holding my breath. I feel myself hold that important breath, and I think about nothing more than holding my breath for few seconds.

I exhale, and I listen to the sound of me breathing out. I feel myself breathing out, while thinking about nothing more than breathing out.

I pause again, contemplating the sounds I've made, exactly what I've done, and the power I've achieved by concentrating on one thing.
