VIDEO: Sonic in Smash Bros

http://wii.ign.com/articles/826/826130p1.html

From a Nintendo conference going on now. Also:

-Fire Emblem DS
-DS Demo station coming to Wii,
-Wii Fit launching December 1st in Japan for 8800 yen
-Super Mario Stadium Baseball
-Wii Ware is getting Dr Mario, a full game in the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles universe, Star Soldier R, Bomberman, Joysound, Pokemon Farm, and more
-Mario Kart Wii is getting motorcycles
-Smash delayed to early January (possibly for Japan only), getting online co-op in the story mode)
-Wii Music
-Enhanced Wii Voting Channel, recommend games and search based on recommendation

In short, Nintendo just raped the competition.

Oh, and there's still going to be a Nintendo conference tomorrow for the US. Bombzaldroppen.

EDIT: Oh snap, Capcom just removed MH3 for PS3 on their website.

MH3 Wii exclusive. Japan is going to go ape**** over the Wii this next year. Bye bye, Japanese HD gaming (we hardly knew ye!).

By the way, Sonic just showed up on the Smash Bros. Dojo site, with a kickass video.

Now, Polyphony...how about them Porsches, Lambos, and Sprint Cup stock cars, Hm?

That's it. I'm getting me a Wii.
Be sure to pack a torch, camping gear, survival stuffs, maps, a compass, rain gear, and if you can get Indiana Jones to go with you you will vastly improve your chances of actualy finding one. I believe a Rosetta Stone may also be needed to break a few codes.

However you do it you will find it to be a mighty quest and I wish you good luck and Godspeed. I spent three hours standing in freezing rain to get mine.

All this Wii talk is great, but aside from Metroid nothing has rerally been drawing me back to the system yet. Oh Mario Galaxy, where art thou?

And Wii Fit will be $75? There had better be some other titles in the works before I even contemplate this.

In a month.

As for the game lineup... it does kinda suck in comparison to the 360, but after Sonic in Smash Bros, I don't think I really care. I bought one for Mario Galaxy and Smash, and quite honestly everything else is a bonus. Metroid, Zelda, Paper Mario, Mario Kart, the inevitable Animal Crossing, etc. Luckily Monster Hunter 3 is a Wii exclusive and TimeSplitters 4 has been rumored to be one as well, so hopefully third parties as a whole are going to get their act together.

Well, that's just the price for Japan roughly translated. I'm guessing it'll be $60, maybe $70 when it releases here.

What the, who's it? Where is that from? All I've heard was they announced a Timesplitters 4 was coming. I was imagining Badass Cyborg blowing up annoying monkeys in beautiful HD glory. Granted, Timesplitters with a Wii Zapper may be a blast.

Hopefully I can find a display demo I can play somewhere before I cough that up. This is the problem with peripheral specific games (light gun games are like this too), you can't play them without buying them because no one rents you the peripheral too.

Speaking of light gun games, Time Crisis needs to come to the Wii and save me $25 for a light gun that works using an RF sensor placed on the TV. That sounds awfully familiar....

EDIT: Went to check out Free Radical's site for TimeSplitters info and it is dreadfully bare of anything, but it does have a nice opening intro.

Nice, except Ewillis, pull that 2.4 meg gif file from the post and just link to the Dojo site, takes a while a to load even on broad band, let along poor dial up users...

More reasons to get a Wii now... so 360 or Wii, not sure which to get first now...

Well, FRD has been giving the Wii a ton of love, praising it to high heaven, Dave Doak saying he wants to put it on Wii, etc. Of course, it's always possible they might put it on 360 and PS3 as well as have a specialized Wii version, but who knows.
