I assume there are a lot of car enthusiasts :D

So I was looking for leather driving gloves. It would be great if I could buy it from UK or Germany. Some US stores don't ship in Europe.

Do you have any good experience with some specific stores?

Do you own any?

Any tips?

Mechanix gloves.. work for me. It gets too hot to touch the steering wheel and shift knob.

Leather driving gloves or any kind of driving gloves are only good for German cars like BMW, Benz or Audi that are expensive.

Take a page out of the book of Frank Martin.

If you drive something with a large diameter, skinny rimmed wheel made of shinny hard plastic or polished wood, then driving gloves are probably a wise purchase. For any modern car with chunkier leather or soft rubber rimmed steering wheels, they're rather pointless.

ok that's all true, but what about in the morning when you have to go at work, the steering wheel in the autumn and winter is pretty cold and holding it tight is sometimes very difficult

Get one of those pink furry wheel covers that young women who wear too much make-up seem to covet so much.

craker, really funny

shem, I was looking for something like these

Oddly (in this day and age), Sears came up with the first hit when I searched. Amazon was next, I presume they ship world-wide.

I have a set of light-duty mechanic's gloves for when the weather's around 60 degrees, just to feel like I'm driving a sporty car. To be honest, that's one of the perks of the rare burst of cold weather (when I live) is that I can wear leather gloves while driving, and well...prix-tend.

Golf gloves are different, and only come for one hand.

Driving gloves are totally pointless except as previously mentioned, skinny slick-surface steering wheels. But if you're tooling around in a '63 Austin-Healey 3000 they would be essential, as would be the cap:

I see what you did there...... ;)

You'll also need one of these to complement the gloves.

That's perfect when I want to discuss Lichtenstein over a game of backgammon with my fellow gentlemen.

[/seriously wonders if he could rock the monocle in non-serious situations]

I'm thinking the one pictured is a bit bling. It might be better with a para-cord neck piece.

I should get one for my Metaphysics debates, how could anyone doubt my theories whilst I'm sporting that!

This is the most likely accessory worn with driving gloves:

That would be more funny if I hadn't completed orders for 100,000 paedeatric (kiddies) ostomy bags earlier on today.

On topic, I'd give driving gloves a go, especially as after 187,000 miles the leather on my steering wheel is starting to degrade, leaving powdery black stuff all over my hands during spirited driving.

You can only wear gloves if you're Luciano Barbera.

What about Hanna-Barbera? Dick Dastardly wore driving gloves and goggles.

He was an idiot too boot as well.

Red gloves, purple trench coat and what looks like a purple and red engineers cap.

If you had the mustache and the cops pulled you over i would assume they may arrest you on the spot on suspected of plotting some evil deeds.

I loved Whacky Races.

Professor Pat Pending... only put two and two together recently and laughed thinking of his contraptions..... good times :)

I've a pair of fingerless glove that I use on the bike, cant wait to grip whatever my first car's wheel is with them!

I suggest the issue there is not the gloves! ;)

well I have to figure something out for those chilly days, my palms will froze on the steering wheel in the morning

btw I never thought you would be so against wearing a gloves in a car :D

i have those in my car

rarely use them on daily bases (more for track days)

But I really love them.

Can't go wrong with sparco or alpina gloves (do not buy any gloves as they need a special cut to be comfy in the driving position)

Yeaahh, i got quoted , thanks tommy 👍 LoooL
