The Mercedes-Benz 500K, designated the W29 was built between 1934 and 1936. It was a grand touring car and distinguished itself from the 500 sedans with "K" for "Kompressor" or supercharger. The 500K was a much more comfortable and better handling car than it's S and SSK predecessors.
The 500K was available in three body styles but the most desirable one of all was the Spezial Roadster. Only 29 made, it also was the best performing 500K.
Recent values for the Spezial Roadster have been in the $3 million range.
It's pretty predictable that this car might come to Gran Turismo in the future for two reasons:
  1. It's an iconic prewar Mercedes-Benz
  2. It's the more refined successor to the Mercedes-Benz S of the 1920s which won the Pebble Beach GT Award in 2017 and is making it's way to Gran Turismo soon. This car is the coachbuilt Tourer by Barker.
