Nicola Baldan entered the final round of the 2014 EuroV8 Series at Hockenheimring second in the driver's championship standings, threatening the Audi RS 5 Coupé of Tomáš Kostka and fending off the Chevrolet Camaro of Francesco Sini, with only 13 points separating the three drivers. Unfortunately for Baldan, contact on lap 1 damaged the rear suspension of his car, dashing his hopes of victory.
