Based on the limited production CLK GTR, the Super Sport represents the pinnacle of Mercedes-Benz development. It is the product of H.W.A., a specialist firm which helped Mercedes-Benz prepare the original CLK-GTRs that raced the GT1 class at Le Mans. H.W.A. is also responsible for creating the 25 road going examples of the GT1 racecar. Among these HWA has prepared five roadsters and two even rarer super sports models having a much larger engine.

Its the new 7.3-liter, AMG engine which highlights the SuperSport's performance. Increased displacement gives the super sport 100 more horsepower than other CLK-GTRs, making this car one of the most powerful, naturally-aspired coupes. The car also gained an additional front splitter for better stability at high speeds. Only 2 were built with the 7.3L engine: chassis #03,chassis #17.

Chassis #01 owned by BC uses the 7.3 Liter V12 and so does chassis #13 too.

7.3 liter V12 engine built by AMG in 2002, so it's the same engine Pagani use?
Yes, albeit heavily modified.

This car deserves way more justice and shine in games, especially the SuperSport edition in particular. It has only ever appeared in Project Gotham Racing 3 and 4. This car wouldn't be out of place in GT Sport and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it shows up in GT7, seeing how they seem to add certain cars at random.

I know this is the Gran Turismo suggestions, but the model in Forza 5-7 and Horzion 3/4 use a non-existent model that is a mix of the SuperSport and regular.
It has from both:
SuperSport: Mirrors (Chassis #17), 1/25 label (Chassis #01), exhaust pipes (Chassis #01)
Everything else: Regular CLK GTR

just wanted to ask, is this car still available in red ? is the speedometer actually at 400 km/h ?
1: No, unless you somehow find Chassis 17 and paint it back red as it is now silver again with a red interior. Any CLK-GTR can be painted red though most owners of them seem to keep them stock in appearance with the exception of BC SuperSport Chassis 01/25 who had his wrapped a few times and has custom HRE rims on his.

2: Yes as the SuperSport had more power than the regular CLK-GTR which had 612 HP while the SuperSport has 720. I personally do not think the SuperSport can ever reach the top end speed without help of either some type of boost or maybe a turbo though it maybe could with the mirrors and spoiler removed.

OH OK so it was red and had a screen inside, then changed hands and recolored silver, he also changed the interior and speedometer
Isn't that weird though? Being red supersport with the 400 km/h speedometer made it the most unique of the clk gtr lineup which is also already unique by themselves
I hope it gets back to the red color and the old interior it used to be someday

Yes correct and I agree, it really stood out among the rest of the other CLK-GTRs though there is one dark blue SuperSport which is Chassis 19 and a black one that isn't a SuperSport. I always said that if I had the money I would try to source chassis 17 and restore it back to how it used to look in the 2000s.

Totally agree with you

Last question
How many supersport versions there are?

Atleast 5 for sure.

Chassis #01, probably the most seen of all CLK-GTR models

Not sure which chassis this is, but it is indeed a SuperSport, i'm assuming this is chassis 13, I believe they are actually the same cars in all 3 pics though I have no proof until I see the dash chassis plate.

Which means that the Chrome Blue one was more than likely wrapped blue by Koji, kept that way for several years, sold to Bingo Sports, purchased then sold 3 years later in Germany, whereabouts currently unknown.

Prototype press chassis #2, this one actually still wears the same plates.

This one is also a SuperSport but i'm unsure of what chassis it is:

Chassis 19 which for years was claimed to be a SuperSport though I didn't see proof of it until it was revealed by Mechatronik who confirmed that it is indeed a SuperSport:

Visually, despite there being claims of a 'additional front splitter' the car looks exactly the same as a 'regular' GTR.

Performance is slightly higher than a regular GTR with the SuperSport have between 664-720HP and a 7.3 liter V12 instead of the 6.9 liter one in the other models. They also have slightly different gear ratios with the SuperSport being geared for 238 MPH though I find it extremely unlikely for it to ever reach that speed.

The ones that I know for a fact are SuperSport models are:
Chassis 01, owned by B.C
Chassis 17, which used to be Red in Dubai I believe ---> at some point in between being fully red and getting the carbon spoiler it ended up at which is the photo in my profile pic, I have more pics of it somewhere----> Spoiler changed to Carbon black either right before or right after the car sold ----> Garage the car was housed in collapsed on the roof giving it chassis damage, it was repaired and repainted to silver with red interior and sold ---> Pops up for sale in Florida at a bargain price -----> Sells a year or two later -----> Whereabouts unknown but this is the model i'm most interested in in particular as it is the only model with the cool SuperSport badging on the side:
base_1418093287133.jpg

Chassis 19 which is the dark blue one retained by Mechatronik who stated on their Instagram that their aren't any plans to sell it, they also at some point had a racing CLK-GTR for sale which is even more rare than the SuperSport.

The press kit car Prototype chassis #2, which is now owned by someone in Asia, Hong Kong I believe.

Mohammed Bin Sulayem's CLK GTR which is also a SuperSport though I am not sure of the chassis number, it has the red interior similar to what Chassis 17 now has.

The Blue Japan one which I believe is chassis 13 though I am not exactly sure, this one used to be owned by Koji Aoyama who had one of the best car collection i've ever seen, he had 2 CLK-GTRs at one point I believe too.

For the ones that I know are a SuperSport but have no proof it is because the SuperSport sounds distinctly different from the regular model. The CLK-GTR dyno vid on youtube is of a SuperSport model which I believe is the prototype press chassis 2 as that same model used to be at SPS automotive pretty often in the 2000s though if it is a different car then that actually means there are 6 SuperSport models, but there are atleast 5 for sure.

Thank you so much for the valuable information sir
Truly outstanding
This also means that at least 5 of the 20 coupes were supersport, the red supersport with the badge and 400 km/h being my favorite honestly
And the 6 roadsters for a total of 26 cars
My favorite ever CLK GTR, stunning

HWA used to have official spec sheets for the various CLK-GTR versions on their website (6.9, 7.3). They quote 664ps for the 7.3, identical gearing, and the same 'over 320km/h' top speed estimate. The 720ps rumour has been around for a very long time, but I've never found anything official quoting it. 664ps is a similar horsepower per litre to the original engine spec, which is probably realistic.
And the 6 roadsters for a total of 26 cars
I believe one of the roadsters is thought to be a conversion of an existing coupe, so the originally intended 25 total cars was stuck to, albeit in three specifications instead of one.

Very interesting, I never knew the SuperSport and regular 6.9L CLK-GTR shared gear ratios.
