Mercedes Cup - Anyone interested?

Hey there. I've thought of a good suggestion for a cup, a cup for all Mercedes cars since I haven't seen one around.

I was thinking of having 5 different classes. They obviously wouldn't all be held in the same lobby, but some, or most, would share a lobby with some classes. I was thinking of having 2 classes in two of the different lobbies then having the last one in a separate lobby. The classes that would be together in the different lobbies can be seen where the tracks section are. I think the first two class lobbies would be held on the same day (Friday) and the one class lobby held the next day (Saturday).

Here are the classes I had in mind.

Beginner Class:
Max PP: 350
Tyre limit: Comfort: Soft
Cars allowed: A 160 Avantgarde '98 and SLK 230 Kompressor '98 ONLY.

ProRoad Class:
Max PP: 450
Tyre limit: Sports: Hard
Cars allowed: 300 SL Coupe '54, 300 SL Coupe Chrome Line, 190 E 2.5 - 16 Evolution II '91, SL 500 (R129) '98, SL 500 (R230) '02, CL 600 '00, SL 600 (R129) '98, CLK 55 AMG '00 and E 55 AMG '02 ONLY.

Racer Class B:
Max PP: 550
Tyre limit: Undecided
Cars allowed: C 63 AMG '08, SL 600 (R230) '04, SL 55 AMG (R230) '02, 190 E 2.5 - 16 Evolution II Touring Car '92, SL 65 AMG (R230) '04, SLS AMG, SLR McLaren '03, SLR McLaren (19inch Wheel Option) '09 and CLK Touring Car '00 ONLY.

Racer Class A:
Max PP: 650
Tyre limit: Racing: ?
Cars allowed: SLS AMG Stealth Model and CLK-GTR Race Car '98 ONLY.

EXtreme Class:
Max PP: 750
Tyre Limit: None
Cars allowed: Sauber Mercedes C9 Race Car '89 ONLY.

All classes would be limited to 8 members only to allow space for the double class races. Reserve members would be able to compete in the single class races however.

Practice rooms would be available and would be able to be opened by any member provided they're signed up for the cup.

Qualifying would be a 20 minute session, where in double class races both classes go out for it and the positions they get will be their starting positions on the grid. The starts will be set to False Start for all classes except perhaps the Beginner Class.

I don't know about how I'll implement headsets - I was thinking on for qualifying and disabled for races.

I highly encourage you to race clean. The EXtreme and Racer A races will require a mandatory pitstop. Racer B maybe too.

Aids? Beginner will allow all aids. ProRoad will exclude TCS. Racer B will exclude SRF after that. Racer A will then exclude Active Steering then the EXtreme Class will exclude ASM after that. Driving Line will be allowed for all classes and of course ABS is allowed too.

Points format would be, depending on the class finishes, 10 for 1st, 8 for 2nd, 6 for 3rd, 5 for 4th, 4 for 5th, 3 for 6th, 2 for 7th and 1 for 8th. If you don't start you will get no points and if you leave the race manually you will also earn no points. If you are disconnected from the race you will earn points depending on when you get disconnected. If you are the first to get disconnected you will still get 1 point but if someone gets disconnected before you you'll get 2 points. Bonus points for pole might be be awarded in the EXtreme class.

Here are the tracks I had in mind.

The first races here would be held on Friday at 1700 GMT, the second races Friday 2000 GMT and the last races Saturday 1900GMT. The classes for each race are shown as well.

Preseason:
SSR7 (Weather) - EXtreme and Beginner
Circuito de Madrid (Reverse) - Racer B and ProRoad
Autodromo Nazionale Monza No Chicane - Racer A

Round 1:
Circuit de la Sarthe 2005 No Chicanes - EXtreme and Racer B
Cape Ring - Racer A and ProRoad
Tokyo R246 - Beginner

Round 2:
Fuji Speedway F - EXtreme and ProRoad
Nurburgring Type V - Racer B and Beginner
Tsukuba Circuit - Racer A

Round 3:
Road Course - Daytona - EXtreme and Racer A
Grand Valley Speedway - Racer B and Beginner
Laguna Seca - ProRoad

Round 4:
Autumn Ring Mini - Racer A and Beginner
Eiger Nordwand Short Track (Reverse) - EXtreme and ProRoad
Trial Mountain (Reverse) - Racer B

Round 5:
High Speed Ring (Reverse) - Racer A and ProRoad
Clubman Stage Route 5 (Reverse) - Racer B and Beginner
Rome - EXtreme

Sounds very interesting to me and I would be quite interested. However the race tires don't work for me at all. The Friday races in particular as I don't get home from work till 1800 EST (or 0100 GMT Saturday).

But if the scheduling was different I would probably like to do it:tup:

I'm trying to keep the races friendly for all time zones but I understand that the Friday times don't really fit in with work times in the US. I might change it to Saturday-Sunday when the time comes if others think it'll be better. But, you know, everyone has an opinion! :trouble:
 
Yeah that's totally understandable. But this series sounds like it would be fun so I wanted to voice my opinion :)

im in 4 pro road & class B , even tho i hav alomost all the Mercedes's in the game i dont like putting miles on my clk-gtr or my C9 . and one other thing are u shure about alowing the clk touring car in the class B it might be a little fast cuz its a race spec car espesally copaired 2 the rest i dont think that car would be a good choice for the class a full tune it wouild be better in class A for shure.

As I've said I'm thinking of ensuring the down force is reduced to the minimum on the CLK Touring and the 190E Touring to ensure the road cars get a fair advantage. And of course, PP limits too. The CLK would be over dominated by the CLK-GTR though if it was in Racer A so it goes in the Racer B section.

EDIT: I was thinking about disallowing any non-PP adding parts to the Beginner and ProRoad classes since they are strictly speaking only road cars. The one exception will probably be the Sports Suspension Kit for ProRoad since the 300SL Chrome Line comes with it. Also it has Sports Exhaust to start I think...and maybe a custom transmission, in which case that will be allowed as well. Mods like this to the road cars in Racer B obviously will be allowed since there will be other race cars in the vicinity... :)

Hi, I hope your idea will work. It looks nice. Unfortunately, I'm not free on Friday and Saturday, they are my family evenings.

In WSCC, we organize next tuesday a single Mercedes 300 SL '53 event, which is not in concurrence with your event. So, I thought, that wile your series did not yet start, some of you might be interested.
