Metallic paint effect?

Well I've been wondering about something lately. There doesn't seem to be any metallic flakes (I hope that's the correct term) on metallic paints in GT5. I noticed it's missing in a lot of other games too (Forza doesn't seem to have it either). So does anyone know the reason for this? Maybe hardware limitations, but it doesn't seem something that would be hard to implement? Here's a picture to show you what I'm talking about:

Maybe it is hard to have it in the pixels of full hd. Already there is a little problem with the shadows in the game.
