As I'm sure you all know, I don't frequent the online racing scene. Therefore, I'm not a good one to decide how exactly to verify times. I'll leave this thread for you all to discuss and decide what methods you will and will not accept to verify Leaderboard times. I'll keep an eye on this thread and answer any questions that pop up.

First and foremost, good to see the work progressing 👍

The commonly accepted method of verification, at the GTTimes, HGT and Racing Point database sites, as well as any "verification required" OLR series I've been involved in, has been for drivers to send via email a copy of the replay in question, utilizing the the Sharkport/XPort (no longer manufactured) and more recently, the Max Drive.

If a driver does not have this equipment, the second method is for them to send, via snail mail, a memory card with the replay on it. There have been instances in some series where a memory card has been circulated among several drivers, then returned to the verifier for processing.

Some people have been submitting videos of their runs for verification. The problem with this is there is no way to "tech inspect" a vehicle using mk's GaragEdit program to validate a car has met OLR requirements of mods/tires, or in the case of a database entry, that the car is not a hybrid. Also, if the wrong view in a vid is used, it can be difficult for a verifier to see an off track or wall conatct incident. IMHO, video's should not be used for Time verification.

The Max Drive is readily available, and fairly cheap. There is software for converting the .max files to .xps files so that replays can be teched with the GaragEdit Program. I don't know yet if anyone has Xported or Maxed a replay from GT4 yet, but I don't see why that wouldn't work.

As far as mk's GaragEdit program, mk is waiting for the PAL release (he's Finnish) so that he can start to work on the GT4 version of his program.

Thanks for the input, NoQuarter, this looks like the way to do it, then. Does anyone else have any more comments?
