Originally scheduled to release on Wii U also but......
THQ/Dev Wii U development concerns

Eurogamer
4A Games' chief technical officer Oles Shishkovtsov told NowGamer: “[The] Wii U has a horrible, slow CPU” by way of explaining why a Wii U version of Metro wasn't in the works.

Eurogamer spoke with THQ's Huw Beynon, who works full time as a representative of 4A Games and Metro, to expand on Shishkovtsov's comment.

“I think there was one comment made by Oles the programmer - the guy who built the engine,” he said.

“It's a very CPU intensive game. I think it's been verified by plenty of other sources, including your own Digital Foundry guys, that the CPU on Wii U on the face of it isn't as fast as some of the other consoles out there. Lots of developers are finding ways to get around that because of other interesting parts of the platform.

Now, this is off topic, but...

Ddrizle, I gotta say, I quite like the layout of your gaming related threads 👍 Not a game for me, though. I hate shooters on consoles and my laptop is way too outdated to run this properly

Aargh, too many good games coming in 2013. GTA V, Bioshock Infinite, and this looks spectacular!

Info on the THQ situation...

Rumor: Ubisoft thinking about buying THQ's assets

MCV
Ubisoft is one of the front-runners in the bid to buy THQ's assets, MCV understands.

We have been told that the French firm is keen to take over the publisher's brands and studios once THQ works through its current financial problems.

On Wednesday night THQ filed for bankruptcy as it handed over its tangible assets - including its studios and US operation - to an investment firm hoping to sell the business on.

Now sources tell us it is already in lengthy discussions with the firm, and presumably its new owners at Clearlake investments, to forge a deal.

Price, however, is the obvious clincher - nose-tappers say that Ubisoft is after a bargain buy, and is prepared to hold-out until THQ is forced to sell off specific assets, as happened to now-defunct Midway when it went into bankruptcy four years ago.

If successful in the overall acquisition, though, Ubisoft would take over five studios and gain the rights to brands such as Saints Row, Company of Heroes, Darksiders, Homefront, Red Faction. Plus it would pick up the deals for games based on WWE and some Warhammer properties - WWE specifically would offer an expansion opportunity for Ubi, finally giving it a decent stake in the sports genre.

That looks so great... just bought the original for 2,49€, cant wait to finally give it a try! :)

Humanity’s Last Light will shine from May 2013

Gamasutra
“The new release date is the ideal way to strike the balance between bringing the best out of Metro: Last Light and not keep the fans waiting longer than necessary.” , said Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Koch Media. “We won’t leave that time unexploited and will work closely together with 4A Games to make the game even better. It will receive all the attention it deserves.”

"Since it has been made public that we took over the Metro franchise, the fans keep asking for a release date. Now we can finally announce when they will be able to get their hands on the game! We would like to thank all of the Metro fans for their patience. And we can assure them that we have a lot more coming their way with the franchise.”, said Menno van der Bil, International Commercial Director, Deep Silver.

Yes me too, it's going to be a sick (positive) game :)

Game leaked and i played entire last night, just woke up. Game is awesome, for me it feels much better than Bioshock Infinite strongly because i love Fallout post apocalyptic climate.

If you can, play it during the night. Much better feel.

I almost never pre-order games...just GT5 Signature Edition and BF3 for PC and PS3...but I pre-ordered this one at Steam a month ago (45€ because I own Metro 2033 -10% discount) and already downloaded it yesterday...just waiting for the day to come and play it.

Not looking at game-plays because it is going to spoil a lot of cool stuff. I was replaying Metro 2033 these days in hard mode. Great game.

This game rocks so much. I love it, so much trophies to earn. Fantastic.👍
