This morning I went into town to buy a Logitech MX 610 laser wireless mouse. I got home, plugged it in, it ran smoother than any mouse I've ever used. Then I installed setpoint (Logitech's installation program) but they've used the same version with every mouse for years. I set up all the buttons but this mouse has a IM & email notification buttons that flash when you receive an email or IM from MSN or Yahoo. It was already set up to work so I went onto MSN to test it. It didn't flash when I got IM's, so I went to Logitech support forum & this happens all the time & the problem is the driver, you have to use the latest driver to make it work but that is not in the package, so I downloaded it. When it was installed I set it up to work with MSN Messenger, it still didn't work. I was originally going to buy a Logitech G5 laser mouse but the computer shop was out of stock & I'm very impatient. The mouse isn't exactly what I wanted & the hot key problems were very annoying as half the reason I got that mouse was because of it's many hot keys.

So, tomorrow I'm going to take this one back & order a G5. I'll update when it arrives.

That's the most useless 'feature' ever. It's up there with LEDs on RAM sticks. Come on, all IM programs flash on the screen when you have a message, and those pretty lights will just get covered over by your hands.
