Just picked this up yesterday. I was hugely into MSFS2004ACOF 2 decades ago. I spent a substantial portion of about 5 years messing around with that sim downloading planes and scenery, tweaking, flying around gawking at the scenery. It was a bottomless pit! It was one of those "sandbox" games for me...more of a toy than a videogame. When I heard the new version was out on the PS5 I was pretty skeptical about it being anything worthwile. But, i took the plunge, and so far I'm pretty damn impressed. Still learning my way around and figuring out how to do stuff but the core experience is pretty fantastic! Obviously it's not going to be as robust as the PC version running on a hot rig but coming from the decade's old iteration I last had I'm still blown away by the visuals and the way everything feels is very much what I was looking for. Even my city of Winnipeg has some actual accurate scenery detail now! I just went for the standard edition because I don't see myself needing the extra aircraft. The 70 in the standard edition offer a nice variety. But, if there's a big sale in the future maybe I'll upgrade for the extra content.
