We are currently a group of GT4 racers who set up a LAN connection and race. Skill level of our group is approximately WRS division 2. In our group we try our absolute best to race as one would in a real life race senario. Very little leaning, bumping, or rubbing goes on. Passing is clean and so are the race lines. I'm not to saying that we are perfect (because we arent) or that there is never the occasional misshap punt, but we really try to keep it clean. We are allways looking for more people to come and join in on the fun.
Since you can only use arcade mode cars for LAN play, we keep the racing to race cars only. As we all know bone stock cars is GT are terrible is most cases. We have a specific game save that has every single race car in the game, you are welcome to it. These cars have been broken down into very competitive groups. For example: DTM, JGTC500 and 300, LM cars have two separate divisions and so on. Every car has its place.
When you come for the first time, we have a spread sheet detailing what cars are in what groups, and your option to take our game save. We have the router and all ethernet cables. You will just need to bring your PS2(make sure to bring all of your own cables for power and what not), a TV, your controller (if you choose to use a wheel and pedals setup, we do have accomodations for that), a memory card, and a copy of GT4. A power strip is optional but recommended.
For about one year now we have been getting together 1 to 2 times per month. We meet in Bay City MI, and have been bringing people in from the Detroit area, Mt. pleasant, and as far as Grand Rapids. We range in age from late teens to early 30s but any able GT racer is welcome! Up till now it has been a loose format of "pic the race group and track" and race. No records kept, just try and have a good time. We have been getting some new people who have been looking for something a little more structured, so new race formats are in the works.
If you are interested in some good racing and some good fun, send me a PM or just respond to this thread and we can get you more specifics.
