Hi all, Im about 250 hours into GT7, collector level in the high 50s. At this stage I'm thinking of upgrading from G923 to RS 50 (already have the RS 50 pedals). Since it's a bit of money I was wondering about the longevity of the game. Currently I log about 2-3 hours every 2 days in the evenings and it looks like: spend 30-40 minutes golding a track experience/weekly time trial, modifying a car for about 30-40 minutes, tuning it and maybe doing a custom race or two, then the last 30 minutes I spend online. I have golded a few of the first missions, still have the endurance one to go. Also the whole power pack is remaining. For those that have reached 100% completion... do you still enjoy the game in the long run? I guess weekly time trials and online will keep the game ever fresh.

Honestly I think the game gets better once you have a giant stockpile of credits and have finished the main "career". GT7's biggest flaw in my opinion was the game's single player progression, because the cafe menus were just not a well designed career mode. But once you get that out of the way, the Power Pack is a decent amount of fun, and it's just fun to play GT7 like it's a big sandbox.

Bored of not having any races? make some in custom races with the giant garage you now own. Bored of there only being a few weird car classes? Make your own car classes and make your own liveries to make it really personalized. If you want to do championships, there are resources for that outside of the game now in the custom race thread here. Bored of that? Try doing some project builds on your favourite cars, or cars you didn't think you'd ever particularly care about. Try all the engine swaps, do some online cruising and open lobby racing, the list goes on.

GT7 is at its strongest imo as a sandbox to just play around and explore new experiences. There's so much you can do in the game besides just the cafe menus. I don't play GT7 as much as I used to, but it still manages to hook me for a few weeks at a time every so often.

Once you have everything completed the game is still fun with modifying cars and custom races. Sometimes I will take a break but given we get new cars quite often it keeps it interesting enough. Recently I spent quite a bit of time just running all the Gr.3 cars at different WTC 800 races and taking a bunch of pictures in photo mode, sure you have to make your own fun but there's plenty to do.

Thanks all, yes it seems most of us who spend longer with the game do like the sandbox DIY nature of GT7. I grew up with Hondas so love to do custom races with a full grid of Hondas at equal PP points, e.g. an engine swapped 80s civic is comparable to a stock NSX. I guess my worry is that I spend not an insignificant amount of money on a racing rig and it ends up collecting dust. I guess Forza Horizon 6 is coming out soon as well. (sorry if Forza is a curse word in this forum!)

If only the way to set up custom races wasn't so tedious... I wish PD introduced a web interface for GT7 where one could do basic things like tuning and setting up custom races. One can dream!

I never get bored as I like to race in the online weekly (labelled daily) races. The weekly challenges for credit farming can be made as difficult as you dare based on what car and tyre you run with.
