is there anyone here suffering from this awful thing?
since 2004 I'm experiencing this disease.
what type of migraine is yours? how do you fight against it? did you find what mostly cause your migraine attacks?

please feel free to share here.

Neeeeever had one.

Only hangovers, bit different.

I used to have terrible migraine headaches after having 3 concussions in two months, until we found a massage therapist, who actually ended up fixing it.

Edit: and according to that, my pain was a 3, but it might as well have been a 1 because I still kept doing things and DEALT WITH IT :p

From,
Chris.

Go get some Chinese mustard and inhale the aroma.

*sniff* WOAH! Wow, that is some powerful stuff! I think that I have just found the cure for stuffy nose! But my migranes are usually caused by over excersion via excersise.

That's not migraine you get after too much exercising, that's for sure. It's your blood pressure getting higher and/or increased blood flow in your head giving you a normal headache. Migraine doesn't go away with the normal pain killers and is generally a royal pain in the place where the sun doesn't shine. I should know reasonably well, my mother used to suffer from it.

Had my very first migraine about a month ago.

Started with only being able to see out of the lower part of my right eye about 7:00pm. The upper part looked like diamonds or some shiny objects. Just got worse from this point forward.

If you have ever had one you know how terrible it can be. By the time 9:00pm rolled around I was in severe pain and could not open my eyes, talk, or move at all. Finally just crawled into bed at 10:00 and just couldnt sleep because my eye, temple, head, and ear hurt so bad. So I took an Excedrin which helped but still couldnt fall asleep until about 3:30. Just brutal pain. Never had a migraine in my life and I feel bad for people that get them all the time.

Doesnt help that I was fighting a cold fora about a week and a half. Constantly coughing and blowing my nose. All started with a sore throat. I finally got some antibiotics which helped a little to hopefully beat this thing. Eventually went back to the doctor and he thinks it has a lot to do with allergies. I might eventually see an allergist to see what I am allergic to. Didnt realize I was allergic to anything.

I never had one (knocks on wood) so do not know how they actually feel, but my ex-wife used to get them once in a while not a pleasant thing to have! she would be out int he bedroom all day and just cry her ass off from the pain.
There is this guy at work that has terrible migranes, he also takes some serious medications to help him. In order to reduce the "effect" from his work environment we have changed the lights in his office to LED lights. So far he hasnt had them as frequent.

I kinda get fed up when people (who clearly have nothing more than a mild headache) say 'I've got a migraine'.

I had one lasting two days towards the end of a period of uncertainty, stress and lack of sleep. Absolutely destroyed me, just constant pain with no relief, no way to get comfortable. I didn't want to eat, drink, talk to anybody, it was a struggle to maintain personal hygiene because i'd often get blurry vision/lose my sight temporarily or lose my balance (not great in a tiled bathroom or a glass shower).

Terrible, terrible thing to suffer from. If I had to deal with it on a weekly or daily basis, I think i'd go insane.

Imagine your worst hangover and then add more paint to that. Thats what a migraine feels like. But with a hangover you can take an Excedrin and be fin within 20 minutes. A migraine last MUCH much longer sometimes 24-36 hours. Just brutal pain. My very first and only one lasted 24 hours.

Just a heads up, if you start seeing only out of a portion of your eye, or start seeing diamonds in your eyes, you are about to get a migraine.

Go see a doctor. It could be something requiring surgery or it could be something less serious. WHy put yourself through 6 years of this without getting help?

Never had one, hopefully never will. I think I was 9 or 10 when I first heard of it. Someone at school said, "I think I'm getting a migraine". And I thought it was a type of food.. I wondered what one tasted like

Well this has happened to me twice and my parents say it's a migraine but I don't think it is cause it definatley ain't severe.

It would start with blurred vision in my right eye (sort of similar to camaroboy69), then I would get a headache. A big enough headache now, I wouldn't have to go to bed for the day but I would certainly be thinking about it more then a niggling one, I would have to take a paracetemol. Then I would start to feel really sick and just plain unwell and would have to go to bed and would wake up when I feel like throwing up. From blurred vision till waking up and feeling fine again would be about 4 hours apart, and I would just eat and drink sensibly for the next couple of days.

I use to get them a whole lot back in 2001 until I figured out what was triggering them. Turned out it was 2 things that were real simple easy fixes. First was my allergies, never took notice of them till after I realized I HAD ALLERGIES. Second was my vision, it changed a bunch and all I had to do was get some new prescription glasses. I have not had a migraine since.

Hope this helps someone.
