Mileage Error!

I was on a whim today so I decided to start up a new game. With my 18,000 credits I bought a white Toyota Trueno Apex with no mods. I raced the entire Sunday Cup and noticed the car had 13.8 miles on the odometer. However, when I checked my Game Status at Home, it says the total mileage I've driven in the game is 22.1 (!!!). I've only bought one vehicle, and driven only one vehicle in the game so far. I have not done any of the lisence tests yet, nor have I done any other driving in any other vehicle. Theoretically the total mileage so far should be 13.8 in the game. Who can explain why this happened? I appreciate any help I can get with this baffling mystery. Thanks!
 
perhaps its another metric conversion error.
 
You did qualify for those races right? Maybe the game keeps that in the total mileage count but not on the actual car odometer. Its known that the mileage doesnt keep count during qualifying on the odometer. When you qualify you can look and see it set at 0.0 when you start out.

Nope, I didn't do anything. I now have two cars in my garage and they have totaled about 55 miles and now the status screen says I've driven a total of about 140 miles.
 
I realised that a long time ago but I didn't think much of it since I had driven a number of diffrent cars. Glad someone else noticed !
 
What about arcade mode? Have u done anything in there? I'm not sure if your mileage in arcade mode is added on to your progress in sim mode or not, but that might be it 👍
 
Looks like your car milage is in miles and the game status is in kilometres.
There are 1.61 kilometres per mile.
20.8 km approx equals 13 miles.
Anybody else seen this in their American game?
