The Cup
A series of 6 races, in the New Mini Cooper-S (GT4).
Each race will be run as a hotlap on a specific track and will feature tire restrictions.
Each race will last a whole week.
Drivers will be granted points depending on their fastest clean lap (replays welcome).
The overall winner will be the racer with the most points at the end of race #6.

Race #6
The final race will require your sharpest tuning and driving skills. There’s much more power than in the previous races and the track is twisted.

Car : Simulation Mini Cooper-S
- you need a Mini Cooper-S in your garage to race this week
Parts restrictions :
- no nitro
- no max power, all parts and settings allowed ( )

- tires : racing super-soft tires.

Track : Motorland
Gran Turismo mode, Driving Park, Motorland, Free run

Deadline : Tuesday, 10th May, 08:00am (GMT) - 00:00am (West Coast) - 03:00am (East Coast)

Rules

Driving rules : standard OLR rules
- 2 wheels on track at all times
- rumble strip is considered part of the track
- no hybrids or cheating of any kind

Submission :
- practice as much as you want before deadline
- PM me (flat-out) your best clean lap (final time only)
- save and keep your hotlap replay
- you can submit only once per race

Thread rules :
The track is short and there are no split times, so lap times discussion will be allowed this week, but with a maximum accuracy of 0.1 second.
That means, if you ran your best lap in 45.079 you can only post “45.0”.
There has to be some suspense this week too ;)

Wow, all upgrades! I have a question:

"- no max power"

What exactly does this mean? Oh yeah, great idea about time comparison.

Yeah my "no max power" doesn't seem clear enough.
We've been limited to 200hp for the past 3 races, and the idea is only to remove this limit for the final race.
That is all modifications are allowed except NOS.
If I remember well the Minis should reach about 260hp that way.

i'm in for some hatd work out on the track, i do not know that track :nervous:

so it sounds great, i love a descent challenge

OK, sounds good. This course can be kind of tricky. And with all the extra power, it will be even more tricky. This will turn out to be an interesting race, I think.

A great finalle to a great series. Good job Flat-Out.

Complicated course, my B-spec driver is faster than me

Barbol
Complicated course, my B-spec driver is faster than me
Yeah, it's like trying to drive a lawnmower around a bonsai.
You're lucky that NOS is forbidden : I was still planning to allow it only a few days ago.

First short session bring me to 41.5, the track begins to show its secrets ;)

Happy racing

8 laps and a clean save at 40.9xx.
I like these short laps ;)

It seems that you're gonna have unexpected competition this week.

Uh oh, I'd better get on this tonight. WRS had me occupied.

Ran my first session of 15 laps and yielded a time of:

F @ 39.9

It seems like I should be able to go faster, but I don't know how yet. Throttle off oversteer and continuous throttle modulation is the key to this track/car combo. 15 laps just flew by. Great finishing race, Cyril.

It's been an honor and privilage participating in this series with all of you. If you ever have another series or even just a spot race, PM me (in case I don't see it) and I'll be there driving along side you. :salute:

EDIT: 39.8

I know I can do better because my first half was $#!+ and I consistantly beat it, but my second half ghost keeps kicking my @$$. :grumpy:

i just can't seem to get it under 0.40.7

guess i know what to do today.. :)

That combination of turns 6 & 7 is kicking my arse. And getting a good line into the final turn without going into the grass on the right too.

40.6xx here

I don't know nothing about sub 40's

Mojo Rising
Ran my first session of 15 laps and yielded a time of:

My submitted time is 39.8xx :dopey:

I like this time because it serves the intention of the rules about lap time discussion in this final race :D

Oh Man, this is gonna be close! I'm done and haven't run any since my last posted time. I know I can knock a tenth or 2 off still but...so much GT4, so little time.

That was indeed very very close.
But Mojo Rising takes the first place for 0.04 second, and thus scores his third win in the Cup (races 3, 4 and 6 : you definitely like GT Mode Chris)
Barbol also had 3 wins (warm up and races 2 and 5).

Thanks guys for racing this series till the final event.
I wish I had as much time during the races as I had for the warm-up : I could have kept the Cup a little bit more alive by making more drivers running it.
Anyway, I had a great lot of fun setting up these races, and I enjoyed watching (from far beyond) both of you battling.

See you at the WRS and at the Numbers.

Chris, you want a PM when I organize a new series : I'll do that, probably during the summer, though I don't know yet exactly what it'll be.
There is still the weekly friendly race at the Numbers which doesn't take much time to run, and I'm organizing the race this week. You'd be welcome.
(Miguel too of course, but you're already racing there ;) )

Holly Molly! That WAS close. Like a fraction of a hair. Great run Barbol. And congrats on the overall series win! 👍 You deserve it.

I don't know about the Numbers race this week, (WRS Nurburgring Challenge) but I'll check it out when I get the chance. Thanks for the invite.

*Pats Mini on the hood* "Good Girl."

Thanks Cyril by set up a handfull of very fun races with a car I like very much 👍 (a shame that old mini not show up in GT4 :grumpy: ). It was Hard work ,you almost did not have time for race your own chanpionship

Glad to know you Chris, we had some very tight battles, you help to do it interesting. Congrats for your last race win 👍

See you both around

i enjoyed racing this series a lot, sorry i didn't get to put my time in, but i was abroad.
i did a time, wich was slower than you guys, but at least i know where i would have ended up :)

well, i hope to be racing all of you again in the near future

Thanks for racing with us, and see you around at GTP.
Do you race in the WRS ???

flat-out

no, they require being able to submit a video when requested and i'm not able to do that.

if you organize another serie, PM me, i'll be more than hapy to join.

If the replay request is the only thing that keeps you away from the WRS, just re-consider it and join : it's really a great series.
The replay is mainly required for division winners or suspicious times.

As long as you're running in the middle of the pack, you have few chances to be asked for one. And when you are, the only thing you risk is to have your time removed from the week's result.
I've been running 4 of the 5 races so far and never finished better than 29th in my division.
