The Cup
A series of 6 races, in the New Mini Cooper-S (GT4).
Each race will be run as a hotlap on a specific track and will feature tire restrictions.
Each race will last a whole week.
Drivers will be granted points depending on their fastest clean lap (replays welcome).
The overall winner will be the racer with the most points at the end of race #6.

Race #4
Walls and more walls.
We'll use the same car as for race #3, and the restriction on tires still stands.
You were provided with 3 sets of tires only : 2 racing qualifying sets, 1 racing hard set. You have used one set for race #3, you must choose now among your 2 remaining sets.

Car : Simulation Mini Cooper-S
- you need a Mini Cooper-S in your garage to race this week
Parts restrictions :
- no nitro
- max 200hp (check the power on the setting page)
- tires : racing hard or qualifying super-soft tires depending on your choice for race #3.
- you cannot mix types (e.g. no hard on the front and qualifying on the rear)

Track : Citta di Aria reverse
Gran Turismo mode, City Courses, Citta di Aria, reverse, Free run.

Deadline : Tuesday, 26th April, 08:00am (GMT) - 00:00am (West Coast) - 03:00am (East Coast)

No more ghosts to chase, you're big guys (girls) now.

Track : Citta di Aria reverse
Why?
What have we done to you?
:(

This track can't be raced in reverse :scared: :nervous:

You are a very bad guy :p

I'm running on qualifying tires, you're running on hard tires and you're faster than me.
I actually tried Citta reverse (I tested all combos we're running), and it's not terrible. You have to be careful, of course, but it's much easier than forward in a Group B car like the combo Famine posted.

Oh Awsome!!! I love these European town courses. And with both sets of my Qualifying tires still remaining.

Still need to post my Race #3 time. I think I still want a few more laps before I call it quits.

GT Mode > Arcade Mode :)

Buffffffffff

It's difficult know if the car brush the wall in the downhill right after the start :scared:

How do you check?

58.6 doubtful T2 ;) by now

The best way to check is in the data logger : you see the speed drop by a few tenths when you brush the wall.
My problem right now is that I still hit the wall you mention. I'll be happy when I only brush it
No time so far. :(

I hit the walls too most of the times, but in some lucky laps perhaps only brush it ;)

You are the creator of the beast :odd:

Hi all :)
I'm here again ! I quickly play this morning ( 30min) and that's my fastest CLEAN lap 💡 (the only one ! :yuck: ) with Qualif tires.
T2 : 56.370 but I can't see the leaderboard...so I can't see what are your times :guilty: .
I submitted my time...because I can't see what can be happend :nervous: , but I think that I'll not have time to play again this week...my holidays are finished :guilty:
See you all :sly:

I know this one is not easy at all.
Wait until we run some city courses in the WRS, you'll be happy to have run Citta reverse in a low-powered car already ;)
I'll run again tonight and update the leaderboard with Tr@sos' submitted time.

I'll get on this tonight, for sure. That EVO has been kicking my arse all week, and I've had little time anyway. But, for now I'm gonna watch the replay of F1 on CBS. Stupid replays. I'd rather get up at 05:00 to watch it live. Oh well.

Is something wrong with the leaderboard? Myself and Tr@sos can't see it.

T2 @ 53.998  I know I can do better, but damn this is crazy. I love this car/track combo. 👍

The way I check for a clean lap is, go to the replay theatre and as soon as the replay starts and you see the car press X which gets you in "bumper cam", then press R1 immediately after to put you in chase mode. If I can still see air, I'm good. If I see a little nudge with no gap, then I do it again. If I have doubts, I just do it over.

T2 @ 53.125

Wow, I am lapping high 55's in my best laps, I won't catch 53's in any form  :scared:

I will like see your replay (if you are Pal). Don't worry, I don't doubt of your times, I want see it for the beauty of that lap :D

Thanks!!! I wonder if someone can convert the replay to PAL somehow or turn it into a video for me. I have the US version.

I think alot of time is lost in section 1. I just do all my braking before I get to the first turn and coast to turn 2 brake lightly and hammer it through turn 2 all the way to the bottom of the hill without braking once on the way. Everything in your body will tell you to brake early at the bottom, but you have to fight it until you get through that archway and actually see that hairpin turn.

That is what I do. I will chack my T1 time later and post it, so there is a reference. If anyone knows how to make vidoes out of US replays, can you help once this race is over? (PM me)

daan can, or knows someone who can, but I don't think he'll visit this thread. Try and PM him perhaps.

He can convert replays, or make videos? I will do that.

He's making videos of each week's top time in the WRS.

I have submitted my time

55.733

let us cover it with a dense veil (not my time, THIS race ;) )

see you next week 👍

I just PMed daan, and asked if he could turn my replay into a video for everyone to watch. All I need to do now is wait for a response.

I had a lap T2 @ 52.8xx but i scraped the wall at that jump at top of the hill after T1. I believe that I am not even running the fastest attainable lap here. I'm sure that one of the top WRSers could knock a second or more off T2. I don't feel that I am retaining all of my speed coming out of these corners. and there are many times that I am ahead of my ghost by quite a bit, but I lose it somewhere else.

I think i'm done with this one though, I will submit a little later and put my replay up and also my replay from last race.(I forgot) :) <===Dunce

Hi all,

daan was a no go. he can only do PAL replays, he says. He was really cool about it and pointed me towards 3rdgenracerx, who may be able to help me out. We'll see.

I thought that It would be as easy as post your replay, I didn't want to give you as much work :ouch:

Results are posted on the first page.
A new driver joined us late in the series, with a nice time.
I thought myself that I would have to submit my safety lap (4th gear all the way though, lap time at 1'55) since I couldn't see anything clean.
I finally got a clean 1'47.502 which doesn't change my ranking anyway : last on my hard tires.

Nice job by Barbol and Mojo Rising, who'll fight for victory until the last race ;)

as the new drive i feel like i should say something.

i enjoyed racing the mini a lot. i didn't think i would make the top 3 though. ok i must admit that i put down 250 km's yesterdaynight.
i'm looking forward to the next race...
thx to all and especially to flat-out for letting me join this late in the season.

greetz to all

Hey extase, welcome. Nice time. This car has alot to offer. I love this combo in particular. It just seemed to flow for me.

Off to Infineon!

Here' my replay (US .xps), if anyone can play it. I asked 3rdGenRacerX to make a video for me and he said yes!!! It will take a few days he says, but that's no problem. It's cool that there are people here that would do things like this. 👍
