Hi, I have a Sony Vizon 32: HD "widescreen tv". Its an upgrade over my SD tube and it shows a LITTLE bit more of the drivers side mirror/rear view than my other tv but still cut short on most cars. Why would they put mirrors and cockpit if they dont function. Does anyone else have full mirrors say on the Ferarri F40? Is there a better tv I could get or does everyone have this problem in cockpit mode?

It is possible to look out the side windows and use the mirrors on any tv. If you go to the settings menu, you can change the standard button config around and add the left/right view button to the controller setup. I steer using the analogue stick so I have left and right on the dpad as the left and right view.

I think I see what you mean, but I meant without having to look side to side. Sometimes hard to do with car at limits. Like the BMW 135 has fully functioning mirrors without having to look side to side, its just some cars are getting hosed.

I think the interior view in GT5P was designed form a single POV, and that would be the view from the eye/head of the driver. Whether you'll be able to see the side view mirror or even the rear view mirror depends entirely to the design (eg, the size) of the car.
Right now you can widen the view ONLY in Gran Turismo 4 by having the triple monitor setup althoughthe price having to own 3 PS3 is steep.

To make it short, your tv is totally fine, we don't see more on our tv's.
Like myke said, it's the design of the car, there are very wide cars like the 430, so the rear mirror is way outside, to see behind the car and not just the car itself. Unfortunately, our tv's are not wide enough for that.
