Missing I .link

Has anyone found out how to link two ps2 scph-50001 models together, they took the I link out of this model?

Gotta have an I'link port on both PS2's to I'link. Unfortantely very few developers made use of it so Sony droped it from manufacturing saving $$$ in the process. You'd have to check in pawn shops or game stores for used PS2's if you want one with an I'link port.

You'll have to buy one of those internate adapter doo-hickeys for the back of the PS2. That's how you will be able to connect to other PS2s.

That sucks. I recently bought a new ps2 cuz my old one broke. I don't use it, but what if I wanted to do the 3 tv thing? Then I would have to buy 3 more ps2's? BS.

The network adapter doesnt work for GT3. The I'link mode only works with PS2's with I'link ports.

I've got some bad news for those wanting to i-link two ps2's

tried it, it works but the only problem is sorry to say it will not allow you to use your mem card for your garage my brother and i tried everything nothing worked. just thought I would let you know incase you didn't know allready

Sadly there is no way to use garage cars. Only the Arcade cars can be used.

Hey everybody, i got my old 30001 model working again, and borrowed another,
we managed to link and race. yay.

I have found that racing and winning the arcade single race sections opens new tracks and cars for the i link. but only for the mem card they are on. the player without the track gets to race it but the player with it has to select it.

Hopefully we will be done soon and we are hoping that finishing the arcade will open the use of the garage. if not we will have an expanded selection of cars to run.

Me and my mate did it and it was fun. It could be better if you could use all of your tuned cars but i didnt mind only using arcade ones (mainly because i got the 787B woowoo) but we really want to try out 6 player races. Has anyone ever seen the I-Link hub? i hear its that you can use another kind of hub (cant remember what it was called but Firewire comes to mind) with different cable connections o you would have to get a set of cables made up by someone. But thats just what i heard

Sorry but finishing arcade does not do anything except letting you use all the cars from arcade mode and all of the tracks in the arcade mode. Even if you finish arcade you wont be able to use your GT mode cars.

I bought a new one, with an ILink and a NA, recently. One of the last new kits, I'm sure. Go to smaller stores or towns and you may find stores with less turnover that still stock new ones.

I have hosted many 6 player ilink days and can say they are awesome! Especially if you have a good bunch of people with similar experience. Only bad things to report are;
1. Everyone lugging TV, ps2, wheel, headphones, powerboard, ect...
2. Can't be bothered to play single player ever again.
3. Only arcade cars available w/o tuning.
4. Pits are too small on most tracks (cars get caught on one another).

If PD don’t fix 3 & 4 in GT4 I will be seriously pissed. The pit problem really spoils close races.
