In the Dec PS3 Mag, there was a 10 page uk launch special. There was photos of the Kart Track Piazza Del Campo, in Italy. Has it been taken out of the game? Also they covered the time syncing on real life circuits and weather changing like Monza. Are these to be found in the longer races?
Another point I'd like to make is in there artical, the in car photos look a lot brighter and more polished than what they do in the game.

As the game was rushed, it is no surprise that things that were not 100%, or very close to finish, got cut for its release. Maybe we will see it in a DLC. :)
 
Yes, the Piazza del Campo was removed. The city of Siena objected because the circuit displayed the flags of the seventeen contrade, which are displayed during the Palio di Siena horse race (watch the James Bond film QUANTUM OF SOLACE - the horse race at the start is the Palio) and are something of a symbol of the city; the race itself follows the same route as the kart track. When the city objected, the flags were removed, and it seems the circuit followed shortly after that.
 
PD did the right thing. They shouldn't give that petty city any more press.

It's still got it's publicity becasue Piazza del campo is on the map during the GT grand tour special event.

The place still gets a name-check, but we are the ones who miss out because we lost the track. Frankly if they were getting that litigious over their place being used. PD should have removed the flags and changed the name to something fictional "plaza solar" or something equally generic, and just left the track as it was.
 
It's a strange one as PD said they would just remove the flags, Yet they removed the full track completely?
 
How about missing kart tracks in general!? I am still at a loss to know why I cannot race the two (or is it three, if you include the variation), tracks in the Karting special event online. Why? 👍

They're track creator tracks. You have to create one with the same theme yourself.
