An electric EVO!

Has around 270 bhp (total of all four motors) and can go from 0-60 in 8 seconds (figures from Car and Driver). Not only that, the car is already living up to its competition roots having competed in the Shikoku EV Rally 2005 last August.

I don't understand this performance car thing. People are always trying to find environmentally friendly alternatives to burning fuel. We know that fossil fuels and their combustion is the fastest way to get a car moving, it's cheaper than electric, more power than deasel. I personally care a lot for my climate, I want my cold, long and snowy winters, but the problem isn't performance cars, it's the 100 cars for every sports car that make the difference.

Where's the benefit? I can see it being slightly good marketing material for the companies, but it doesn't go much further than that. You end up spendingmore money to go around the track slower than a car with the same price tag (and development costs).

It's Mitsubishi trying to make a point, that electric and environment friendly can also equal fun to drive.

Besides, imagine two of them motors mounted to the Lancer's rear wheels in place of a heavy drive-shaft and differential set-up (e4WD style).

I wonder if they kept the intercooler there.
