Hi Everyone.

Firstly, i hope the question is okay. Couldn't find something relating to this question.

This is something Ive been wondering about for quite some time. Also from earlier versions of GT.
Taking in mind, that the Evolution line was and is known for it's handling and performance. Im baffled by why the cars turn so badly in the game.
Also in the earlier versions of Gran Turismo.

I tried some tune setups in GT6 Sport, that made it kinda decent. But not like what the car should.

I keep thinking of that Top Gear episode, where Clarkson drove a Evo 8 vs a Murcielago. And even with the Turbo lag. The Murcielago could only get some distance to the Evo 8 on the straigjts, but as soon the corners game they were right behind each other.

Right now im drivning a fully Tuned Evo Final version, road version. And yes, it's quick and stays on the road. But turning is so bad. Even with RS tyres.

Can anyone give there insights to this?
Kind regards

The EVOs, specially the GSR versions, had some very complex differentials, much with rallying in mind, specially the rear axle one.

The older EVOs also had the RS versions, more track minded, with different diffs specs.

The most notorious handling characteristic is the effect on the rear axle, as the Lancer, like any other 4WD with a 50:50 or close power distribution is naturally understeery on power on corner exit. So, the "outside" rear wheel receive more power than the inside wheel to induce car rotation to counteract the natural understeer. So, if you understeer, you should apply more gas, instead of lifting off, as common sense or your reflexes would tell you to do.
Is something a little more complicated than that, but I think that sums it up. They are great cars, but have to be driven in a very special way.
Appart from that, they feel extremely heavy turning in the latter GT games, maybe because the tires aren't really wide (an Evo V as 205 (mm) wide tires, an Evo X being the most wider with 245mm)

I have another question to add: how does one adjust the AYC on the Lan Evos in the game? I can't find it in the tuning shop, in the setting sheets, or in the MFD.

Soften your front anti roll bar to negate understeer, lsd can also be tuned to compensate
Funny i came from fm7 where every damn car had to be tuned to be driven to gts, where I didn't need to do that, now this understeer, snap oversteer is back in gt7, I wanna race not spend time on tuning ffs

They used to include an AYC adjustment for the Lancers in GT. Crank that up and watch it tear around the corners. For some reason they removed that adjustment from the cars. 😑
