Mitsubishi is a marque renowned for their rallying heritage, with their Lancer Evolution taking the battle to the Impreza WRX STI in the late 90's, winning the WRC Teams Championship in 1998, but have not competed in the WRC since 2005.

While the Lancer Evolution is no longer in prodcution, Mitsubishi have still found a car to take to the WRC stage, the Mirage R5. Based on the 6th Gen Mirage Hatchback, the R5 is powered by the same engine as the Evo X (reduced to 1.6L) with a Garrett turbocharger producing 280HP.

The car received an extensive testing program in october and the car will race in WRC2 events, alongside the Citroen DS3 & Peugeot 208 T16, starting next year.

Specifications:
Body:
5 Door Hatchback
Engine: Mitsubishi "4G63T" 1.6 Inline 4
Gearbox: 5 Speed Manual
Power: 280 BHP
Torque: 450 NM
Drivetrain: Front Engine All Wheel Drive
Aspiration: Turbocharged
Weight: 1230 KG

^ Or better yet, I hope Mitsu produce a production-spec version (even in limited numbers). This way, it would compansate the loss of the Lancer Evo in some form.
Maybe, I could forgive Mitsubishi, if they made an overpowered Mirage. But, let's face it. RalliArt is dead, even before the Evo. I used to have respect for them, and now, they're dead to me. Even if, Renault-Nissan try to help them.
