Just out of curiosity, has there ever been talk of starting up a mobile page for this site?

From time to time I travel for work, and when I'm waiting for my flight to board, or I'm taking a brake at work, sometimes I'll use my smart phone to browse the forums. Unfortunately things look a little discombobulated when the page loads up and some options do not appear available too. (Like starting a thread).

At any rate, thought I would bring this up to see if something is in the works . . .and to see if there are any other addicts like me that do the same thing.

Drop-down box at the bottom of each page has Mobile listed in it.

It can also be changed at the bottom of this page.

There already is one. I don't remember the exact address, but I think it is something like:

mobile.gtplanet.net

I forget, I have it bookmarked and haven't had to look at the actual address for a long while now.....

Do a search....it is in there somewhere.

I'll be . . . So it is.

Never noticed that before. Thanks for the heads up.

I did search the site a couple times. Ended up finding discussions on GT Mobile the game. I never noticed anything about the site.

Edit: The mobil pull down is nice, but I guess what I was refering to was something that looks more like the actual site (graphically), but compressed for viewing on a smart phone.

How bout one that's iphone optimized?

As was pointed out, you can visit mobile.gtplanet.net to view the Mobile version of the forums. I don't know what kind of phone you're using, but it should present a fully functional experience for you at maximum speed over a mobile connection. As for an iPhone version, I've considered using an iPhone-optimized style that was developed by another vBulletin forum owner, but it's in his own colors/graphics and would take quite a bit of my own time to customize properly. I have (and love) an iPhone myself, however, so it is something that I would like to work on eventually.

With that said, you can access an iPhone and mobile version of the home page/news blog at m.gtplanet.net. I set up the service but have not publicized it - you can also view the latest forum threads in a similar way at this URL.

Hello Jordan. I have switched over to the mobile site on my phone since my last post in this thread. It is faster than loading up the standard site through my phone.
(I'm actually replying from my Centro.)

My initial thoughts/question was for a mobile site that resembles the actual site. (showing menu bars & avatars)

But being honest, I'm more than happy with the mobile set up now that it has been pointed out to me.

Thanks for maintaining such a great site.
