mod chip help

OK I am sure I'll hear about this and I am sure I am posting this in the wrong place. I need help on the installation of the magic 3.1 version 1 type 2 PS2. All of the sites show a diagram to go by but what does the red box with the words saying "bottom side" mean??? Does that mean the other side of the board? If so how do you get to the other side? If you flip it over you are looking at another board. Thanks for your help it is appreciated!!!!!
 
Yes. You have to solder on both sides of the board.
 
Might as well go to the store and buy a new ps2, since you are going to screw up your what was once working one.
 
Well I am planning on buying a new one anyway. I just thought that I would chip the old one so I could play the games that arent offered in the US. I took the Motherboard to work (3M) we have alot of very good techs there. They said it would be no problem:D I guess if they work on 50 million $ machines they can surely soder in a modchip.
 
it hella hard to install a modchip for ps2. i got a prfessional to do it
