Hi guys, i'm pretty new on here and this is my first post. Im not new to Gran Turismo though and wanted to post some pics of my moddified G27 and cockpit. It's still not 100 % complete but I couldn't wait to try it out :sly:

fantastic job man.....are using a different brake pedal than stock? I just noticed the cyl. is a different colour.. load cell?

Awesome setup. Only thing I would omit is the GT logo. Other than that great.

I installed " the Perfect Pedal" and have to say its awesome! It has a hydraulic cylinder that provides not only a more realistic feel but better control. It is expensive at $250 though. The difference without it to me is like playing with a controller than a steering wheel 👍
Look in the Photobucket link to see pics of the perfect pedal kit.

Nice work man! Looks very neat and functional and the matching Momo wheel and seat are a nice touch.

Nice rig, you spent a little bread making it what you wanted, but it sure looks sweet!

Thanks for the compliments guys. I started working on it since Aug when I was originally going to mod my DFGT . Took my time and bread to get it this way. I had other ideas for it that I put on hold for now. I was toying with the idea of making carbon fiber shift paddles, or just having them anodized, one red and one blue. I also wanted to install a push button start switch to power up the wheel.

Carbon fiber is cool, but it's been done. The anodizing sounds slick tho!

Looks so great man, I woulda thought it was a commercial product. Puts me to shame for sure.

I can't take all the credit. The frame is from my "Gran Turismo Sparco racing cockpit" and the shift mount is for a "Playseat" which I adapted to the Sparco frame.

ya, I'm leaning towards the perfect pedal as well......or andy pastores load cell, but he keeps saying he'll be selling them again soon, soon, always soon.....but so far he isn't...here's my setup I'm working on now..

Looks good 👍 I wish I could weld, I would of made my own frame if I could. The quality and feel of the Perfect Pedal are impressive to say the least. I saw a video review of it on youtube and was very intrigued. Since my cockpit was still not done at the time I went ahead and ordered it. Although it's a steep price for just pedal I have no regrets.

Yes, that is awesome stuff right there man, such a damn good job, really love the (anodized?) blue and red nutting/bolting, as well as the GT logo and pedal mount setup. How did you make this rig, is the frame pre-built? Would you build to sell? If you could build another one how much would you charge?

Wow... That really is an amazing setup! Only one thing I would change. The gear knob, make it a momo :) But otherwise, that's amazing!

The frame is from a Sparco Gran Turismo racing cockpit that I had purchased years ago. I added the pedal mount and the shifter bracket. I also replaced the original Sparco seat with the Momo one and replaced the stock nuts and bolts with the anodized ones. The G27 has a Momo wheel (using Chilicokes adaptor) and a custom switch plate that I made from carbon fiber .As far as making one to sell, I have to pass, there's to much time and money involved .

I've been looking on eBay for one but their expensive .

Seems to me some people have to much money lol.
Great job Grey looks absolutely skitts.

I recently decided to add some cooling fans to my G27. After doing some research I found out that the motors on the G27 are the same size as some of the ones used in R/C cars. I found many styles of fans and heat sinks for the R/C cars. In the end I went with ones that just clip onto the motors and have an integrated heat sink. I wanted to run the power for the fans straight from the wheel but didn't want take anything away from the motors. So I used an old cell phone charger as a power supply for the fans. Then I opened up the fake vents on the G27 housing (top and in front) with my Dremel tool and used some flexible ducting to route the hot air out. Only problem I ran into was the clearance of the fins on the heat sink and the teeth on the steering rack. When I powered up my wheel it got jammed during calibration:nervous: Luckily I was able to find some info on how to realign the rack and the pinion gear. Then I took my Dremel and removed some of the fins that were close to the rack. Now it's back together and running cool:tup:

Exellent job man! I love the wheel! Looks awsome!! I only wish there was a way to replace the wheel on the Fanatec models.

Nice work.
Do you have your rig posted thewayiplay.com ?, if not you should go over there and get it posted its a cool site for building rigs lots of projects to get ideas from.

Are the buttons just for show or have you linked them up to work on the ps3 ?.

Never heard of that site, I will check it out. As for the buttons they are all hooked up to the original G27 wiring harness. Right now I have rear view on the top left and Headlights on the top right. Hopefully GT5 will someday let you map the buttons on the G27.

Supossedly you can map your buttons on the DFP menu. Haven't tried it myself though.

Yea its a shame you cant do that, I never thought you could on the G25 until I used the DFP settings and it worked.

I have been thinking of making a button box for PS3 games by hacking into a PS3 pads PCB and hooking buttons up to it.
Then mount the PS3 pads PCB inside the G25's casing and running the wiring for the button box through the wheel shaft along side the wiring for the paddle shifter switches and the original wheel buttons.
This way I could map most of the buttons to the wheel no matter what the game.

But I dont know how to hack the PS3 pad but I will find out when I come closer to doing it.

Nice work hope to see this posted up on the TWIP forums here is the link - http://www.thewayiplay.com/mainforum/index.php?board=2.0

Its a great site for all things to do with sim rigs.
