Probably because they are considered by most people as musclecars!
Go on netflix and check out the show American Musclecars, then come back and explain how the producers there got it wrong.
A car can be both a musclecar and a Supercar. Unlike a racing series with clearly defined rules about what cars are in what classification, neither musclecars nor Supercars are a clearly defined class.
A Supercar is generally considered such based on its performance.
American Musclecars are generally high powered streetcars.

The GT40 has never been a muscle car. It's a supercar. The Viper and Vette count simply because the game designers chose to count them. It could go either way.
