None of the guns in MW can have the trigger held down to fill the opponent with lead, if you try that you just get killed! The nearest thing to it is the M4 and even then if you want to take out someone in the distance you need to fire in bursts. Which I do to take out snipers frequently. :sly:

I agree, infact some automatic weapons on WaW with the aperture are almost recoil free. I used to always use bolt actions either scoped or bayonet...ed, as it was the only way to get away from the easy to use weapons, maybe throwing in some double barrel shotgunning to mix it up.

I think COD4 has the balance better, SMGs bounce around alot but allow quick movement, assault rifles are generally accurate but slow you down and aren't great from the hip and LMGs are just big brutes which aren't very accurate at all unless a grip is applied.

On WaW it's more like, use an automatic weapon, or get slaughtered (bar sniping) which kind of ruins the WW2 feeling when the majority of the soldiers on the field are all equipped with automatics and apertures or other scopes.
 
Having played MW again recently I don't think either of them are any good any more. MW has got to the point where it seems every player is either ridiculously good or a camping/grenade launching/juggernaughting moron who can't enjoy the game without the need for ridiculous perks and weapons. Just now I played against a guy who got 30-5 and my entire team finished on negative ratios. People like him ruin the game. Why don't they go outside and get some sunlight while letting us casual peeps enjoy their gaming from time to time?!

It frustrates me that this has happened as I used to love the game. Now it's just grown into a boring, samey shooter full of idiots.
 
I can only speak for PC since I dont have a 360. But on PC, MW is a far superior multiplayer game. Better balance, most weapons have a better feel, both games often spawn you in awkward places, but WaW is way worse (the amount of times I've spawned next to an enemy, or in someone's sights, or had 5 enemies spawn directly behind me). Also on PC at least, WaW players seem to only play deathmatch, its so hard to find a good server playing the other modes. MW its easier to find servers playing search and destroy, sabotage, headquarters, etc.
 
I tried playing MW again today, had 1 good game out of about 20. I might go and trade them both in soon, god knows what happened over the last few months but it appears that all multiplayer has been taken over by sad little idiots who clearly need to get a social life.
 
I say Modern Warfare is better. I got WaW for christmas, played for 3-4 weeks and then I have only touched it once since.

I still play CoD 4 whenever I get the chance.

@ Moglet. I can see what you mean but it is 19 games out of 20 for me that go good and the other 1 is a horrific noob grenade, jugger, tube, RPG fest. I get so 🤬 off in those matches because it is unbelievebly stupid, the tactic in hardcore S &D goes down the hole and you just get either team killed or noob tubed.

That is just that one match though, the others are fine so thats why I still play. Maybe you lag, maybe you need to get back in the hang, I dont know. I also dont know why you would sell it, just keep it knowing it was a damned good game for its time.
