Just in case anybody has done what I'm planning to do...

The point is that as we know, the new Medal of Honor (or at least some versions of it) included the good old Frontline as extra content. I actually bought the entire game only to get Frontline in HD and got kicked in the face when I noticed that it's now buyable in the PS Store. I'm planning to sell the game if, and this "if" is the reason for this thread, I can keep the save data and trophies from the "disc version" and continue playing with the digital copy.

If someone has tried it, please tell me how it turned out.

Um... Well you DO need the disc to play it but if you want the ps store version there will still be your trophies im pretty sure because its the same game...

Yes, you do need to disk to play the game that is on the disk, but that's not what he is asking.

You do NOT need the disk to play the PS Store version. We still do not know if his trophies, etc from the disk version will transfer over to the online version....which is what he is asking.

The trophies you'll keep, no doubt about it. They are linked to your account and you simply can't lose them. The save data I'm thinking yes, but I'm not sure.

I just did a quick search remembering Demon's Souls. This game is of note because you could actually platinum it three times -- If you got yourself an US disc, european and japanese that is. They were registered as separate games in the PSN server, so you could get platinum for it three times.

The reason I say this is because this game appears on trophy websites three times, and MOH: Frontline only appears one time. That is as good a confirmation that I can give you.

My advice would be to register on ps3trophies.org and ask there. You could ask for someone to do you the favor to try YOUR save (the one on your console) on their PS3, using the PSN version if no one knows the answer.

However I'm inclined to think that you won't have any problems whatsoever. I know this thread is old, so maybe you already know the answer.

This'll be a lot like a problem I had when inFAMOUS was free for the Welcome Back Program. My friend lent me his PAL copy of inFAMOUS, while the downloadable was NTSC, so I couldn't play it.
Just replace inFAMOUS with MOH and the same results should happen. Just make a backup of your old save incase something blows up, mmkay?

Ok, got it working!!!
It doesn't work because the PSN version is NTSC, and for the PS3, it's a different game (ie a different title ID) as the PAL one.

Here is what you need to do:
- Start the PSN game, and create a saved game.
- Exit the game, go to th XMB "Saved game" menu.
- Copy your "PSN version" saved game to a USB stick.
- Copy your "Disc version" saved game to a USB stick.
- Plug the USB stick to a PC, and go to "PS3\SAVEDATA"
- Make backup of that folder, just in case!
- the "disc version" saved game is inside BCES00609_INFAMOUS_#
- the "PSN version" is inside BCES00220_INFAMOUS_#
- Copy/overwrite the STATE file from the "disc version" to the "PSN" version.
- Delete the "Disc version" (ie BCES00609_INFAMOUS_#)
- Plug the stick back to the PS3, and copy the "Infamous" saved game from the stick to the PS3.
- Unplug the USB stick.
- Run the PSN game, load the saved game and resave it, to recreate the correct PARAM.PFD file.
- Bob's your uncle!

Enjoy!
William

The problem here is that I don't know what the codes are for each MoH game save, so you'll have to figure out the disc-based code is before you buy the PSN-based game.

Im pretty sure if you buy the digital copy than your trophies WILL transfer which i said in the above post very unclearly.

That's only if Grey has the same codes for each game (i.e. he has the PAL disc, and the download will be PAL as well).
Grey, call Customer Service and you might be able to find out if the online game is NTSC or PAL. Or ask around and see what code the downloadable game is (the save game code).

I still don't know, unfortunately but I'm also guessing that nothing will happen, nothing negative that is. I'll consider ps3trophies.org some day.

Just sent email to the customer service, now let's see what they have to say about it.
