Monitor Colors Change Randomly

GTPlanet, this is my debut to this topic category, so help a bro out.

When I look at my monitor, sometimes, the monitor is bright, then the screen colors just switch off and on. So, if the monitor is bright, within almost a second, the colors begin to look dull. I'm seeing them change right now as I type up this thread topic. I know that I can't look into a new monitor because it would cost money (well, duh!). Anyhow, what do you suggest for me to keep my monitor from not doing this as often?
 
I'm not quite sure what you mean...does the monitor loose brightness (as if you turned the brightness down)? Or does one specific color turn gray or go crazy, giving the monitor a weird tint? Anyway, my only suggestion is to reach around the back and wiggle the minitor cable on both the monitor side and the PC side. Over time, these connectors can go bad and cause wierd colors. It can be fixed by propping the cable int the "right" position bith a small block of wood or similar object.

Thats all I have to offer, it worked for the crappy monitors I had to deal with at my HS.
 
Skip kind of has the right idea. Maybe the screen been taking a little too much damage to get these certain tints. I don't think this one is dying because if it did, I'd get some switches off, like you're looking at the screen, then you get a little buzz from the screen. I don't know how to describe it, I'm sorry.

Skip has the right idea, though. Dying? I hope not.
