They're for idiots.
Basically, I need something that I can plug my computer into, but can also take my PS3. Therefore, it will need an HDMI port.

However, at the shops I have been going to, I am getting conflicting information. Some say get a TV, other say get a monitor. This is part 1.

Part two is a good product that a-looks good and b-will last about two-three years without major issues. A link is good.

If you can quote a price, even better. Just don;t give me something that costs 2000 AUD. Around 1000 AUD at the most.

Your help is appreciated, GTP.

Thats what I bought for my bedroom to use as my PC monitor and my bedroom TV - i've also used it for my PS3 on occasion as its not my Gaming TV :D

It does everything you are asking for just hope you can buy this TV or similar in Austrailia.

Equivelant to $653.53 Aus
Around $999AUD only 2 weeks ago. We were looking at this for Jack but ended up buying the Series 5 which is full HD for an extra $240.

I picked up a G-Hanns 26" monitor that has HDMI and used a HDMI input switch to toggle between my PS3 and My computer. It has built in speakers, but also has a analog audio out that the HDMI audio will route to. Last I checked, they were under $400 USD.

I'm using exclusively as a PC monitor now since I got my 1080p Plasma, but it was great for the price!

Keep in mind that I have never heard of this site before, but regardless, it looks like a decent place to narrow down the models easily. mwave.com.au allows you to pick and choose what you want for options (D-Sub and HDMI in - Yes, etc.) and then give you the ones that apply. From there you should be able to find out which displays have decent reviews and which to stay away from. Hope that helps.

I'm using a 40inch Samsung for my pc and gaming! Kind of big for pc though, got set back when using for the pc! Prices for LCD are dropping here in the U.S., 40inch and under are going for less then $1,000.00 U.S! Hope you fined what you are looking for!!👍

These days, the main difference between the two is whether it has a broadcast tuner built into it. When I was shopping for mine, I was more interested in the resolution and what connections it had over any kind of "features" like tuners. Technically speaking, it's a monitor.. a 47" 1080p monitor, but just a monitor nonetheless.

Dell has a great selection of monitors with DVI and HDMI inputs for a computer and PS3, etc. Seems like most of their new ones favor 16:9 resolutions instead of more typical computer resolutions. Plus, they're "HD", whatever that means.

Some decent deals there:tup: I don't have a ton of money to spend but im looking at getting a new monitor at least 20" to use for pc and gaming ( my gaming set-up sits with my pc ). When the time comes i think i will look into one of theirs, thanks:sly:
