I bought a monster cable s-video cable for my ps2 a while back, because I have a Phillips HDTV bigscreen I play GT3 on, it made it look tons better on the big screen. about 2 weeks ago I noticed the screen kind of flicker and go dark and then come back, Its really annoying. Any one else have this problem?

Also buying a fiber optic audio cable is definately worth it for anyone with surround sound. The sound is simply amazing, my neighbors are pissed everytime I turn on GT3 and crank it up.

If you have a HD monitor, you should consider picking up a component adapter for your PS2. You'll notice yet another jump in video quality. I have noticed your problem that you are discribing on occasion with some other S-Vid connections, mainly from my DVD-Player before I went with 480p (480 progressive scan) with a component connection.

Ahhh, I'll definately look into that. Do you know who makes one? or does Monster Cable make it? and by the way, I was messing with my monster cable and I crimped the connection that goes into the PS2 a little and it seems to be working fine. but I'll definately look into component adapter for my HD monitor. all these wires, just for a playstation!!! yea right..

Thanks... I'm definately gonna have to order some.. I just need to get rid of this other PS2 first.. but thanks again LoudMusic and Pako!!

Oh yea... Is there anything better than fiber optics for sound? I doubt it mostly because fiber optics are so expensive, and I can't seem to quit messing them up...actually its my cat doing that, must like the taste?

There's always verying degree's of 'good' when it comes to cables and media formats. I would say that in the digital relm, any digital media able to transport the audio will sound perfect. Perfect in the since that the digital cable will not alter (degrade or enhance) the information (audio) in any way. Zero's and One's are still Zero's and One's regardless of how they got there. I will say, however, that the better the cable, the better the chance that all the Zero's and One's will end up at their destination without error.

Analog is a totally different game......

If you are using a flat screen, by default configurations, do you notice that the picture doesn't full the screen completely. It is offset to the right a bit, you can see a black bar on the left side of the screen.

I wish I would have waited and bought a flat screen... mine's just a regular HD bigscreen. But, isn't there an option in GT3 to set it to 16:9 format? or does that still not fix it?

If the screen is flickering like that, then the video cable is probably loose and wiggling around a bit in the TV connection thingy or whatever the hell it's called. I had the problem too, so I just held the video cable in one place with some electric tape to remedy the problem.

If your playing on a True Big Screen and it's starting to Flicker or Blink is because it's doesn't support Video Gaming and could void the warranty of the Big Screen TV as Listed in your Instruction Manual of the PS/2 and Big Screen TV! You can play it on any size Monitor but not a projected BIG SCREEN!
