More changes at Spa

Not sure if this has come up elsewher eon the forum, but I was surfing etracksonline while waiting for a uni lecture today and found this.

The infamous chicane at the end of Blanchimont and the Main Straight are getting re-profiled again, and for once it looks like they might be onto something here. La Source is being moved back to allow for a longer straight and the bus stop chicane is getting a major overhaul to similarly improve the run onto the Start/Finish Line. As an added bonus, it no longer looks as painful as it was in the last race.

Yeah Spa has been going through quite a few changes over the past year to bring the standards of track and facilities up. In addition to what you mention, they also re-building the pit road buildings.

gotta say, they've got the revisions to the Bus-Stop chicane spot on in my opinion. not only will that accomodate to the longer straight up to La Source, but I think it will also reduce the risks of someone getting it wrong through the chicane and risk having a shunt. Thumbs up to the revisions 👍

This has gotta be the first revision of recent times to any track that gets a thumbs up..

The bad thing about having that pit building crammed in-between the sections of road from the La Source hairpin like that is that every time they are required to upgrade the pit facilities there will probably need to be some minor track revisions to clear more space. Go forward thinking!

But hey, at least we have Spa back for a couple of years. 👍
