Up til now the H Shifter has worked in GT5.
All of a sudden it doesn't work :grumpy::mad:🤬
Also the clutch pedal has no effect on the game now either :grumpy:
I've made sure the cables haven't worked loose, in game settings to MT.
I'm choosing cars in game I know don't have paddle shifters.
I've restarted the PS3 etc etc but still no luck :sick::sick:
I'm sick to death of this thing not working reliably. 👎👎👎👎👎

Have you tried recalibrating? Don't tell that you did not even read manual before you started that rant.

To recalibrate is tuning button and start button together.
All that happens is the tuning resets. rSr
So that doesn't work.
But even so why is the clutch pedal not working anymore?

No, if you hold the tuning button you get rsr. Make sure your holding the start button down first, also , plug it into a pc when you do it.

So, I've figured a few things out :dunce:
The reason the calibration didn't work was because the wheel just wasn't detecting the shifter.

With the shifter unplugged all that happens is the tuning gets reset when attempting shifter calibration.

With the shifter unplugged the clutch does not function.

On closer examination I discovered that the cable connecting the shifter from underneath was very loose despite checking it earlier. Gravity seems to be dislodging the cable with each gear shift. :indiff: it's that loose 👎

💡 So to combat this looseness I have had to wrap loads of tape round it to secure it. (not pretty but it works)

I hope new versions of fanatec shifters will have a usb connection method for a more secure connection or even have the socket on the sides instead of underneath.

Anyways, problem solved :D:D:D
