Hello.

I know this is a weird, maybe even silly question, but is there any Gran Turismo 5 players that actually know a thing or two about vehicles? I know there is, yeah yeah, but I just seems most of the people I play with online are just in for speed and pure HP.
I guess you can narrow it down to this - Is there a league/club/group that I can who has lobbies and that I can join that truly enjoy cars new and old, who take it seriously (and maturely) and aren't just in GT5 like some kind of arcade racing game.

Thanks for reading,
-P

I host Shuffle races every night, with progressing PP. We start at 300, end at 500, then repeat. Winner picks the track.

I love racing everything, and shuffle provides a good mix of different cars, different styles, different tracks, and the mode takes tuning out of the equation. To me, it's pure racing.

Finally, someone who does this other than me. Next time you host this, may you send me the room number, or just a friend request?
Man, thank you again. Looking for something like this for a long time. 👍

I'm with you on this one. I prefer driving on technical tracks. Seems to me like everyone wants to race on high speed tracks. Then everyone busts out the same one or two cars for that guranteed shot to win. Its not fun anymore doing random races.

You should check out the Online Competition section of GTP. They have plenty of leagues and clubs to sign up for. Some way more serious than others, but even the more casual leagues are 100x better than any random race you find online.

These mature people are out there. I recommend friending all the clean fast racers you can. I just join my friends lobbies and enjoy heart pounding door to door racing. Respect is key.

Also the shuffle races make for some great driving.

Pinkintron Friend me on PSN, I'm a member of the Friday Night Boys. We race (surprisingly on a Friday night UK time) with alot of banter, very cleanly in road cars with championships for same cars and with what's in our garages. Also there is an F1 championship on a Wednesday night if you feel the need. If you can cope with our British sense of humour you are more than welcome. Two things a microphone is useful and this friday coming is our first "dirty cheating etc " night for a laugh, normally we don't accept that behaviour but it's a one off

I'll be on sometime between 10p-11p CST US and will add you on at that time, then should have a room up and running shortly after. I look forward to seeing what you bring to the table.

Over this past week I've noticed a few people returning, and we usually get some pretty competitive races. There is some contact, but no punting or anything crazy, and when there is they get the boot.

That being said, I won't boot someone for lack of skill. It kills me when players hop in a room, then start bashing new guys because they "don't know how to drive." When you come into my room, you'll get respect when you give it, not before. I run a relaxed room, so when kids come in throwing accusations w/o sincere feedback, they're gone.

If you've got time before then, shoot me a Friend Request so it'll be ready when I get there.

Look under Race for Fun, room titled "CLEAN & RELAXED" shuffle-style race. Numbers are usually limited, and the room is without voice to help server stability.

Wow, didn't realize it was so hard to find people who were, as you say, serious. Check my signature. Stop by.

Pinkertron,

There's a whole bunch of us!!! The GTP Weekly Race Series hold weekly events for time trials and also races in both NA and EU regions. You don't necessarily have to know about cars to race cleanly, but most members are serious enthusiasts.

Some threads for you to take a look at:

GTP Registry Qualifier

This weeks Time Trial Event

This weeks Race Event

New members are always welcome, so why don't you come on over

it's pretty funny getting into those race lobbies with people talking on the mic who have no idea what they're talking about when it comes to cars or what certain settings do

Rule: Can't use same car twice within 5 races!

I can never drive the same car for more than 30mins or so, gets boring.

I hate the fact that I love the TGTT, but it's always full of ignorant drag racers and/or show-offs in upgraded cars who try to race against your far less powerful car.

Gets annoying, especially with those who hate Veyron's/X1's as I love both of those cars.

I wish I could race LMP/GT1/Group C cars online, but everyone is in either 500pp NSX races (well at least that's what they amount to) or drag/drift rubbish.
