Hello,
I was just wondering, I am currently using a 2J for the 650PP races and I was wondering which is better:

Lowest possible weight with maximum power up to 650PP (for me that would be about 610 HP) or about 50-100 more kg in exchange for more power?

Both would result in 650PP, but I'm not sure if acceleration and max speed are effected?

Which would be better?

Thanks,
~Mal

Put on the extra weight and get the extra power for 650pp. The draw back is tire wear. With added weight you can play with the ballast for improved cornering. I find a 49 front 51 back or 48 front 52 back has good cornering. And the power give you improved acceleration and top end. Also a well balance heavy car can corner all most as fast as the same car with less weight.

The lower weight lower power route calls for much better driving to be competitive. You have to make up in the corners for the lower acceleration on the straight.

More powerful cars with more weight can excel the others in their momentary speed of acceleration, but can necessarily be harsh on tire condition, on the track with simple layout mainly comprised of straights, I guess cars with more horsepower will win, but when it comes to agility at winding section of corners, the ones with less weight would be ahead for their generousity toward the tyres and flexibility at the corners.

More weight will raise adhesion on the tires when braking or throttling, but will loose cornering flexibility & result in a more complex tire loads. More power will influence power & torque bands, in turn boosting speeds in straightaways & turn exits. But due to the MR, it'll take a bit more work to control the wheelspin. More weight however will also depend on ballast placement.
