Found the new Stars and Stripes Seasonal at Tokyo the most difficult a-spec event in the game so far, Sports hards and 600pp. Wow. Wouldn't 600pp be more like a sport soft pp?. Had to bust out a full tune for it.
Anyone else feel like the AI has to be using TC to cope. Either way, the AI was handling it's business and was as aggressive and challenging as I have ever seen it. Was fun and is a handy tuning aid I assume. Also a good way to hear all the new sounds and ways tuning effects engine sounds.

I love hard seasonals but I actually didn't have many problems with this, I never knew it was limited to sports hard. I used a stock Viper ACR which I assumed was equipped with softs. And yeah Daytona was a good choice for them to show off the wind noises.

I thought it was pretty easy, actually. I crashed my Z06 twice at Cape Ring and still won by a fair margin. I ended up switching over to a lard butt Challenger to make it more interesting.

meh, wasn't that hard.

I used an untouched, UCD bought Ford GT '05 to complete the first 3 events, no help except for ABS 1. after a few unsuccessful attempts, I came back with a stock Corvette ZR1 (C6) and nuked the AI on the last 2 events.
This was not that of a hard seasonnal. So far, the only seasonnal that had me fighting for hours was the expect Gran Turismo one, with tight regulations on the cars ( Fiat 500, Elise 111R and Subie ). Most seasonnals are feasible without straying too close to the regulations

It is not limited hes driving sports because road cars don't come with slicks of any kind. And wants to make it harder..
You can fit RACING SOFTS if you want. PD wont stop you...

I think he's using sports hards because the AI is.

its not limited to any tire. I just run the same as the AI. Chances are you did it on whatever tire you had on last.

I never got a chance to gold all levels of this event (only found it a few days ago) a now PD has taken it down..That was possibly the best event, seasonal or otherwise, PD has made so far.

No one nuked the AI in a stock car on sports hard at Tokyo I don't think. The other events were easy. It's the 600PP Sport hard event at Tokyo that was difficult.

I'm close to getting this one on Sports Hard. I missed it by 1 second but I was using the Viper ACR. I may use something else on sports hard to see how it responds.

I did it a few times to collect lvl21,22 and 23 tickets :)

I liked the Fiat 500, really pushes you to learn to drive clean and fast :)

Agreed, The Suby one remains the only A spec seasonal I did not gold, only silver. That was a tough one, but I am not a big fan of 4WD for racing in GT5.
Love my Suby in real life though.

I had to go crazy on the settings for that one, with horribly open camber settings. And the last lap was painful to drive, with tire wear so bad I had to go easy on the throttle lest I wanted to visit the sandboxes :)

That's an excellent stint, especially if it's a stock ACR. I ended up using a fully tuned GT. I wonder if either the RS200 Ford or the Focus AWD have anything for this challenge. Might be interesting. Going to check that out.

Comp Chip, Wing with max aero. Only modifications added and that was to get it to 600 PP. The power wasn't the issue though it was clearly the tires not wanting to stick to the road.:ouch:

I also wanted to run it as clean as possible, I could have definitely won if I wasn't caring about that factor.

Yeah, I think this could have been to highlight the reduction in grip that this update had as well as possible AI improvements.
More 600 PP sport tire event's please, but lets have all the super cars from all countries next time.

Nah, I like this one. If I had to pick a car I would pick the GT-R and I would be able to race it to the fullest on sport hard tires and then end up winning by a ton:dopey:. I like this one. I may try the S7 next on Sport Hard.

Had a ZR1 that was already around 586pp so used that. Had Sport Hard for the first 3 and won after 1 or 2 tries, but had to migrate to Sport Med for Tokyo, but this has never been a stellar track for me. It turned an 8 sec 3rd place to a 1.6 sec win. I left the mediums on for the final track but think I could've managed on the hards as my winning margin was quite large. The best thing about it was that although the car was quite slidey, it was still manageable with a wheel and I don't normally handle slidey cars well with out resorting to the DS3.

Trouble is,these seasonals are over all too quick unless you can really discipline yourself with the pp levels. Bring back the Expert Seasonals!

Haha. Turns out I was lagging. Wondered why I was struggling so bad and felt over matched last night. Hard wired my PS3 since I was only seeing 3.7gb
on my wireless. Wow, no wonder I always lose connection. 16+ now and I got my grip back that kept failing me last night. Almost beat it with a stock Cien on first try. Much better and consistent.
Good day, my online just improved. Anyone know if those Uber Gaming routers actually work?

Are we still talking about seasonals? As far as I know, although you need to be online to play them, you're still playing offline, so I'm not sure how server lag would have any bearing on performance.

It was late and I was tired and it's a tight track at high speeds. Could have just been that the ZR1 09 Monster I started with got me off on the wrong foot I guess. 600 + horsepower better for drifting sport tires than gripping I guess. Not playing sober probably did not help either. :)

I used the Challenger SRT8 08 to win all the events on Sports Hard tires. Mine is fully tuned and power limited to 600 PP. Great exercise in car control.

I won it by using RH tyres on my Dodge Viper ACR, could have won with Sport Soft but I couldn't make any single mistake, the Ford GT (no stripe) was fast

Giving it a go with my S7. 582pp and SH tires no aids. Doesn't look to good for the home team as of yet.

the other track isn't that hard, I could win it with SH, just the Tokyo R246 PD probably get Sebastian Vettel to drive the Ford GT

I thought it was pretty easy. I like others used the Viper ACR fairly stock too... I just added the chip and changed the transmission... Beat each one first race and CRUSHED them on Eifel.

The sports hard tires were a fun and a nice change from the unrestricted races. The AI gets ugly and dirty from time to time (I had one that kept blocking me every pass and hogging the road). I cant complain, it was fun while it lasted
