most difficult moments in GT series

didn't play GT1/2 much, 99.9% GT3 and 100% GT4, 93% GT5.

1) Gold the '123 second' wait SLR driving mission at the ring (GT4)
2) Gold the super license test at Monaco in the Toyota GT-One (GT3)
3) Gold the Vettel Challenge (GT5)
4) Gold the R34 slipstream driving mission on the test course (GT4)
5) Gold the seasonal event at Tskuba in the RX-7 before they lifted the regulations :(

whats your take? anyone else recall parts of the game which were really difficult?

The mission 34 on GT4 was insanely hard, took me days to finish it. The R34 slipstreaming one wasnt that bad once u figured out what to do!

No doubt the hardest thing ive had to do in GT is the Vettel Challenge. My DFGT has had a massive workout the past few days!

This should have been a poll.

100% complete and all golds on GT1, GT2 & GT3. The only thing I could not finish on GT4 is the final driving mission with the SLR, that you mentioned. Bought the SLR and practiced for hours and could never get down to the time needed. Nurburg is still my weak track. It's just too long to memorize. I hate it.

The Vettel Challenge definitely.
I feel that I can now Gold Mission 34 from GT4 but can't be bothered to take my PS2 out.

I used to be like that, work hard at trying to Gold the AMG Driving Academy, in 5 days, I became a Nurburgring Expert 👍

I played through (and enjoyed:)) all the Gran Turismo games. tbh its tough to think of one of the top of my head that's tougher than the Vettel challenge Suzuka. Having said that i know there were some i struggled with at the time. Some of GT2s licences were up there, but i cant quite remember which ones:dunce:

I'm not joking, but I think that particular mission took me about a year (probably more) to beat. And I mean a year. Not playing for a solid year with no sleep, just coming back to it here and there and then screaming in frustration.

Absolutely the most difficult challenge on any GT for me.

random side note, I could never find the last .1% on GT3, I literally did everything and couldn't find one thing not completed all the way, I'm over it but I still scratch my head sometimes on that

the RX7 around tskuba I finished 6 seconds behind over and over, then they lifted the regs and I won by like 30+ seconds with another one of my monster 7's

so far with the DS3 I can only post 2:11.8 around monza on the Vettel Challenge, seems like I read people have a easier time with the actually steering wheel on that one

anyone confirm that the wheel is easier to drive the x1 with?

The RX-7 challenge w/ restrictions was difficult, but very attainable. I think I got gold on my 5th or 6th try.

Vettel challenge is insanely more challenging. Took me 2.5 hours to get bronze on Suzuka.

I don't know how many times i punched my wheel in the Vettel challenge. I've only managed silver and got a white X1. I don't think my wheel could take it if i went for gold.

Much easier.

GT1: 100%
Hardest? endurance race in SSR11. Fun though.

GT2: 38%
Hardest? Dont remember..

GT3: 20%..

Hardest? Um, dont think I got there..

GT4: 30%
Hardest? GT World Championship in Professional events. Had to resort to b-spec most of the time..

GT5: about 6% I think.
Hardest? So far, it's not a race, but keeping track of your money..

Gettin out of the same trap at the end of the straight on grang vally in GT1, yea u know wut one I'm talkin about

Getting 100% on GT2 wasn´t that impossible xD
GT1---> only played 2p-Mode at a friends house (didn´t own a PS1)
GT2 --> can´t remember, but some Licence-Tests where super tough
GT3 ---> Golding S-Licence with the Toyota GT1
GT4 ---> why do all think the Mission 34 was hard ?? I did it 2nd Try (First Run was 5seconds behind leader => I knew I had to do a 9:00min Lap minimum => 2nd Run FTW). The skyline- Mission was harder !!
GT5----> Vettel is almost impossible for me, I think I don´t drive it at all again. Very hard is the 10Lap Daytona NASCAR-Series Race. Countless Times the AI rammed me on the Last Corner on the Last Lap => Rage-mode

The X1 challenge is the only thing i dont have a chance to get gold. even silver is out of my reach. Everything else i feel like i could have done if id had the time and effort or if i could go back and replay GT1, 2 and 3 as i was only a child. (i didnt even own GT1 i lent it from a friend for a week and did almost everything, GT5 must have about 10 times the amount of races to do). I got to 99.9% on GT4 but i couldnt be bothered to redo the licences

Although the license tests didn't count towards the game completion percentage. They were required, however, to do the races. Bronze was enough, thankfully.

S-License tests in general up to GT4. I could gold some of them but never really all of them. GT5 S-Licenses are easy though.

Really? I must have missed something, but the only thing I could find that i hadnt done was gold the licenses

Gt3 Super Licences were insanely hard, took days to complete but the satisfaction was great when you finally finished.

Trying to keep GT5 from messing up your PS3.

Definitely didn't count towards the game completion percentage. 522 races to be won, 33 championships to be golded, 34 missions to be completed. Each netted 0.169% which was always shown [in your profile] one figure behind the decimal point and always rounded down.

You had to complete the licenses, obviously, because plenty of races required S License, but gold wasn't necessary.

I wouldn't call it hard, because technically its not its just cheap. You really just have to be lucky enough to not get pit maneuvered, because thanks to how strong drafting is its impossible to pull away from the field.

all gold all the licenses - GT2 - prior to even attempting one race in GT mode; the logic? you spend your starting credits upgrading a decent car, no grinding, smiles all the way - after you get all the golds..

Some tests just get inside your head... there was one license test in GT3 or 4 which was a Viper on the Laguna Seca Corkscrew which took me ages and ages to gold... oh and the cones tests were always a sod too with the controller (though easy in GT5 now I have a wheel).

But overall, I'd say Mission 34 in GT4 and golding the Vettel Challenges in GT5 at Nurburgring and Suzuka.
