Happily just spent cr.385000 for the Murcielago LP 640 to respray my RUF Yellowbird in a newer looking yellow (of course i wanted the Lamborghini anyway) - maybe PD can incorporate a feature to buy a paint item for a percentage of the owning vehicle's value?

P.s. the Mclaren F1 MP4-12C and Audi R8 5.2 apparently do not come with paint items for Fire Black and Lavagrau respectively.

I don't like the system. At least we get extra Chips every day. I now spray a car and before pressing any buttons Quit the game if I don't like the way the resprayed car looks. That way the Chip lives to be used on another car.

You guys buy cars for paint chips?

When you need a particular or specific colour, 'tis the only way. I do it more with UCD cars, as obviously these tend to be slightly cheaper and also because the colours are of limited/random availability e.g. Alfa Romeo's Nuvola Iridescent and Nissan's Midnight Purple.

Free paint items are just a bonus..

I was really hoping I would get a historic orange paint chip with my McLaren F1, but for some reason it doesn't come with one. It's not even a livery color and still no chip.

I paid 500,000 for the FT86 (whatever it's called) Toyota concept car from the new dealership just for the flip paint to put on my 458 Italia.

I already had the very same FT86, I gave the new one I bought to a friend, didn't even drive it 1 mile.

2 days later I decided I didn't like the flip paint, so I bought an Aston Martin DB9, new (160,000 I think, roughly), and used the paint from that to respray my 458 again. I sold the Aston too as I didn't like it either.

650,000+ in total for the spray job. 👍

I had an idea yesterday, that when we play arcade and we win a race, we get to select a 'prize' and we can choose a horn or a paint chip.

I settled on Pearl Yellow from the 370Z, "only" 40k for a can of paint
The most expensive car I bought just for paint have to be the SLR McLaren.

I don't always repaint my cars, but when I do, i would prefer to see the paint on the whole car instead of just on that little spinny thing next to it. Make it go full preview with different light like in the new dealership. its such a final decision unless you wanna buy the car again to get the chip back and then waste another chip to get the car you painted to the color you want. that is if you dont save your data. It would just be a time saver.

I'm assuming you don't get any rare chips for signing in? I'm in america and the only matte/color change/chrome chips I get is from either the cars or getting 30 more cars in my collection.

^ Any paint chip in the game is fair game for the daily gifts. I received a Matte Brown two days ago 👍

Simple, US gets it, for some odd reason, Canada DOES NOT! :ouch:

Even simpler: You're not checking your paint chips daily. As already mentioned in the thread.

I think the most expensive chip is one of the FT86 G-Sport Colour Shift ones, since any cars that cost more that offer chips (the Enzo for example) offer colours that are available on far cheaper cars. I guess the Shelby Cobra's worth more than the Toyota... but it doesn't really offer many stand-out colours.

The Audi concepts that pop in the UCD go for 1.5 million, and their paint chips are utterly unique... but you win those. And even if you're not up for duplicating cars, considering this paint system is so utterly backwards, I don't think many would have a problem with duplicating their favourite paint colours ;).

huh. Maybe I'm not that lucky with my paint chips then. I've been keeping track of my mattes and other rare chips and have not received any good ones unless I get 30 more cars. I waited the longest for Matte orange and finally I just did the trick to force it to come. Though I will see if I get any tonight at midnight.

A Paint Chip shop! That would be fantastic man :)

Even better would be to have a Standard Car Dealership so we are not dealing with standard cars have 60k miles on them and we have to give them a engine/chassis haul.
