Most graphically impressive game?

Now that I've jumped ship, bitten the bullet, turned to the Dark Side, etc, and purchased an Xbox360...

What's a good game to pop in and say "Holy next-gen graphics, Batman!!"?

Of course, after spending upwards of $500 on the console, extended warranty, and a charge-and-play kit, money's a bit tight at the moment.. hehe.

Right now, I'm in the racing gig.. I got PGR3, and I'm definitely picking up TDU on the 5th (largely the main reason I picked up the 360).

How about BC games? I've heard Halo 1/2 work rather well on BC. What about Forza? KOTOR 1/2? They're on the list, are there any issues with them that anyone knows about?

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter has got to be the one of the best I've ever seen. The lighting and detail is quite amazing, with the online modes being much better than expected. There's hardly any slowdown either...

With the stabdard XBox games, Halo 2 works very well, off and online. Forza works well, too, but the franerate does dip a bit on some tracks.

Kameo. That game looks a lot better than most PS3 games. I would download the demo or rent the game first, though, since fantasy gameplay might not be your gig.

Like James said, GRAW is a badass looking game too. Everything is sharp and clear. A must-have, I must say.

KotOR 1 and 2 aren't very graphically impressive, even for an Xbox game, but both are classics, especially if you're a Star Wars fan.

Call of Duty 2 looks good, but it doesn't look as good as GRAW or Kameo or PGR3. However, it's definitely fun.

If you have the HDD, I'd just download demos of games you're interested in. That way, you don't spend rental fees for games, and the demos give you a good taste of the game.

Um....

:D

Yeah, I've been looking at videos and screens of Oblivion and GRAW.

Do they all have demos on the Marketplace? I don't have my 360 online just yet, so I don't know what all's out there.. will need to wait for a wireless router and an access point to use with it. My connection's also not the quickest... 768K DSL. Quick enough for gaming, but any demo of decent size will take a while to download.

They are on average 750mbs each. Usually takes 2 hours here on 1mb broadband...

It takes 30min for me.

I'm on DSL:

Download Speed: 4227 kbps (528.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 658 kbps (82.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

It's a 5mbps connection.

The demo's don't take that long for me and I'm ona 2mbps conection and they're usually done in half an hour. The download sped is only relevent if it's below the upload speed of the server hosting the demo, so my 2mbps connection might be downloading just as fast as your 5mbps connection.

Hmm take me around 20 minutes unless you only get the demo soon as they are released. TDU took longer cuz it was when the file was new. I cant say Kameo looks better than any PS3 game because I have not seen any final PS3 games in person on final hardware. It looks ok to me.

PGR3 looks great until you race at night or start noticing how bad the wheels look on must of the cars.

By the way jedi mine was free :D thats why I'm here so now my opinion mattes.

You know the multiplayer does not use the full game engine as much as the single player one, which is why most of the time nothing slows down in multiplayer.

True, but even still, the textures on the multiplayer mode are amazing. It almost seems like they're better than the single-player textures.

Elder Scrolls Iv: Oblivion is the best looking game on XBOX 360 IMO.

I think I have to agree with that one, although the details in PGR3 and TDU (scenery could be better) both look great. I played the Just Cause demo for a few minutes, I wouldn't say it looks great, but I need some more time to judge. So far I don't like the controls. It feels like there is a big dead zone.

Shame it does not use all the special graphic filters and all of the lighting from the single player. But Just Cause demo had some graphic bugs in the cut scenes.

Of the 360 titles I've played, I'd have to say that Dead Rising and PGR3 are by far the most impressive as of right now. Granted, it isn't miles ahead of anything on a high-end gaming PC, but it certainly is enough to make a good bit of difference.

Games that hold a good bit of promise:

- Forza 2
- Gears of War
- Splinter Cell: Double Agent
- Test Drive: Unlimited

...etc...

It will indeed be interesting to see how things shape up once the PS3 hits the shelves in November.

Yeah, but what would you rather: lots of people running around blowing themselves up with the best graphics and lots of slowdown, or the same with lesser graphics and hardly any slowdown at all? I know which I'd prefer. It still looks great anyway! That's what surprised me the most, along with how well it plays.

I will list these because they have really good graphics or the attention to detail is amazing.
1. Kameo-Extremely colorful and beautiful. Best water ripple effect I have ever seen
2. PGR3-Cars look very impressive. Just check out some of the members photo galleries. Very imressive attention to detail and the cars just look amazing inside and outside.
3. Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter-Overall just looks great
4. Dead Rising-The attention to detail is mind blowing at times. Hundreds sometimes thousands of zombies on the screen at once. Yet you can still zoom up to any magazine anywhere in the game and actually read it with no problem. In a game this huge it just simply blows me away how much attention to detail is stuffed into Dead rising.
5. Just Cause demo. -Another beautiful game with very good graphics as long as you take the motion blur off. Its only a demo but it shows great potential already. Reminds me a lot of Far Cry.

And I just HAVE to ask - How the Hell are you going to back that statement ?........

I certainly hope it's a mistake from your part !...

Fight Night Round 3

Dead Rising

Ghost Recon: Advanced War Fighter

Hitman: Blood Money

Elder Scrolls: Oblivian

You know how I'm going to back that? I'll make you change your mind. I'm going to send all my fellow ducklings to Denmark and plague your country. Muahahahahaha! :mischievous:

Okay, I take my statement back. It looks as good as most PS3 games.
