Former Grand Prix regular Jaroslav Hules has died in hospital from injuries sustained in an attempted suicide attempt last Saturday. The 30 year old Czech rider had not raced since his final Grand Prix appearance in the 250cc race at Valencia last year and was reportedly suffering from severe depression. Hules made over 100 Grand Prix appearances in the 125cc and 250cc classes, with best finishes of sixth and eighth respectively.

Toler, I'm very sorry to hear that. I thought Daijiro Katoh's death in 2003 at Suzuka was sad in MotoGP, that one was worse because I can relate to being depressed and saddened beyond belief. For Jaroslav Hules and his family and all who know and love him, GTPlanet, as well as the entire racing world, will miss you dearly.

In the meanwhile, we CAN do something to help curb suicide as much as we can. Visit my "Opinions" thread on "Preventing Suicide" here:

Let's talk about how we can curb suicide as much as possible so that another situation doesn't happen like this again.
