Motorstorm- GTP Meet Up- Sunday 14 October @ 3:00PM

This thread has been made so then we can discuss things like the date and time of the meet up, then of course who can make it, then other things like that.

The meet will consist of having some fun on Motorstorm, that brilliant game made by Evolution Studios. It will be some great fun racing against the people that we all know on GTPlanet. It should be quite fun and I hope that once the date has been confirmed that quite a few can make it!

Of course, I will be the host of the event or unless someone else wants to do it.

So the first matter of discussion is the time and date of the proceedings. Do we want to take place on a week day or weekend, do we want it in the evening or during the day? You know those kind of things.

Personally I am free most afternoon's from around 4:00PM till about 6:00PM then again from 7:00PM till 8:00PM. During weekends I am free most of the weekends though. I cannot usually make Thursday's or Monday nights. Well you guys can recommend times, and we can see what we can do!

It is now confirmed that we cannot do a worldwide meet up, so it is now going to be two separate meets, the first being the EU, then the US. I am also looking for a volunteer to run the US event as I cannot. Also keep discussing the date/time for the EU one. We will also begin preparations for the US one as soon as I have a volunteer!

Well you EU guys have a choice of what time you want to meet up.

Options:

Friday 5th October @ 7:00PM
Saturday 6th October @ 2:00PM
Friday 12th October @ 7:30PM
Saturday 13th October @ 2:00PM
Sunday 14 October @ 3:00PM

So there are your choices just say which one you want. I want to try and get as many people as possible to get to come. So thats why I have come up with quite a range of dates. Anyway, take your pick!

Yes we should discuss times by using that, prefferably GMT time. I'm not sure if NA's can access the EU server, we will have to get confirmation of that through a American member. I know that through our current set-up I can access the Australia Server, but I'm not sure if they can access the EU one. If not as you said we will have to host 2 different events. Which is alright with me, but I would prefer if we all could meet up together.
 
During the week, 4-6, 7-8 are out for me. For those times, it would have to be on a weekend. 4-6 still at work, 7-8 getting the kid(s) ready for bed. Usually any time after 8:30 works for me during the week, weekends a generally open when ever.

Sounds like a great idea, hope it works out.

Thats a pain, anyway I think I would prefer to do it on a weekend rather than a week day as I usually have homework to catch up on anyway.
 
I'd be willing to participate, but as was noted prior the only servers accessible to us in the US (or maybe NA) are "US East", "US West" and "US Central". I'm guessing even if European servers were made available to us that the server lag would effectively make the games unplayable anyway.
 
I'm from NA, just in case anyone was wondering.

During the week is no good for me as I work nights and am usually sleeping in the afternoon/early evening. Weekends are usually ok for me, although saturday night is probably best as I often work all day saturday during the day at my parents farm.

So my vote goes to Friday or Saturday night, past 7 EST...or 11 pm GMT (if that sounds right?!)
 
Well, I have asked on another forum if there is any possible way that we can do it. Hopefully we should get an answer from them, if not then we will have to hold two separate events, one for EU and the other for US. Of course we will have to find someone who wants to run the US one, as I won't be able too...

I asked on the forum and it is not possible to do a World Wide Meet Up. Soo...we will now have two events, the first being a EU meet up and the second being a US meet. Of course I cannot run the US one so I am looking for a volunteer....

So you EU guys, what date do you want the meet?
 
If you guys do a meet, I'll be there. On the NA servers though.

Someone should also do a GTP Warhawk meet, and have a GTP fragfest if enough people come haha.

I'd give it a little more time, as it hasn't even been a week yet, and these kind of meets, if they have not been organized before, can take some time to get the word out.

You might want to consider PMing some of the UK PS3 owners that have posted else where as they may not know about this thread. Also, even if they don't own MotorStorm, perhaps they might be able to borrow or rent a copy for the event.
 
Sorry, I'm impatient like that...

I like the idea of sending some PM's to EU users. It might get the word out on this meet and things could start to get intresting. Thanks for your (as always) friendly support.
 
Maybe start a list of the players interested and sort them by North America and Europe, then allow each to decide who will be the player to add everyone and go from there. It might help things go a little smoother when it comes down to D-Day.
 
Well I have sent some PM's containing some questions in it to various people who might be intrested. Hopefully I can get some replies from people as I'm pretty much desparate....
 
Right then, after sending 8 PM's to various people and only recieving 2 replies which frankly is pathetic. All those who didn't reply should be ashamed as it was only a simple questionaire that would take only a few minutes of your time.

I'm setting the date for Friday the 5th at 7:00PM seeming many people didn't seem to like the choice of having a date to choose from, I thought it would make it better and it would bring up more intrest but it hasn't.

Say in this thread if you are wanting to come or not. There will be a list of people coming in the first post, and unless we get atleast 8 people wanting to attend then this meet will be cancelled.

So Friday 5th @ 7:00PM, can you come or can't you?

a) No-one can be bothered
b) No-one wants to come
c) No-one likes the date

If its C then I can change the date too the Sunday 14 October @ 3:00PM , that better?
 
I would love to but the time is questionable for me, and I'm in the US.

I am up for it, but i cannot garentee that I am free, or will remember(my memory is shocking). Still count me in.
 
I suppose this is dead then. I think I can safely say it is cancelled unless a miracle happens.
 
Anyone in North America still willing to keep it going? I'm up for it if anyone else is...
 
As before, as long as I am available when the date and time is determined, you can count me in... but maybe we should start a new thread specifically for NA users?
 
Well if a NA meet wants to go ahead feel free to create a new thread, but as I said I can't organise it as I can't run NA meets from my EU console...:( I can't believe that the EU didn't bring enough members wanting to meet up. I'm quite sad actually.
