I got gold on this, but, not by 7sec's.!!!
Your video was is enlightening. Never did I know you could go so fast headed up the mountain, and that bit of grass headed back down... it is a magnet for me.
Excited to go back and run this track with the coaching you have provided. Love the track, just not that good at it.

Great to know it helped! Bathurst can be very tricky, it's super fast but has that street circuit aspect to it that means you have to be so precise otherwise it's disaster. Let me know how you get on! 👍

Nice breakdown. One thing I thought was worth mentioning is that, while the cones are good for learning and teaching the line around a track, they usually aren't necessary once you have done so. It would probably be a good idea to point out other features that can be used as references (such as the access road on the left near the cones on the front straight or the pit lane divider leading into the final corner).

I found early on that I was relying too much on the cones and, once they were gone, I would have no idea where to brake. That can be disastrous if you don't realize they are missing until after you have passed their former location.

Edit: Just to be clear, I am suggesting pointing out these permanent features in addition to the cones. The cones are definitely easier to spot when just learning where the line is and how to stay on it.

That's a great point! I'll definitely include that in my next video! I remember first learning Interlagos on this game, hurtling down to turn one looking for the two cones after the 100m board and they weren't there, threw me off for the entire race afterwards

Thanks so much for the fantastic video! I wasn’t able to get gold by 7 seconds, but thanks to your coaching I did it by about 7/10ths of a second! This was after I don’t know how many attempts and always being at least half a second too slow!

Thanks!

I'll have to check this out when I get home tonight. Bathurst is a track I really struggle with. Great to see you on the site @F4H Rosso I've been following you on youtube for a little while now. You're light years faster than me :bowdown:

As always, we'll done.

Being Australian I know the lines and brake points here better than I know my own children. I am a struggling B driver but got gold with two passes here, a 2.08, I use the d pad and x and box buttons though so I'm nowhere near as smooth as you are.

Toughest corner for me is Forrest's elbow, the car gets unsettled on entry and it's very easy to push wide and lose a ton of time.

Happy to see you lift a tad through mcphillamy, you can take it flat but you have to be absolutely perfect perfect, not worth the risk.

Interesting pointers.

Thanks for sharing these precious tips of the track.

I was giving the brakes a little dab in the approach to the skyline section to get the car turned in.
Will try your method in a while to see if I can beat my work colleagues time.

We're always trying to get the top spot from each other.

How the hell did you manage a 2:05.7?

Update....had a few goes last night and bettered my time from a 2:07.7

This should be helpful going into tonight's manufacturers race.

Important to note that my lap was done on a very old patch. The tyre model is definitely faster now than it was back then. The pointers should still be applicable though.

That top lap is incredibly smooth and planted.

So much cleaner exits with the TC off.

Will continue to practice with it off but not in manufacturers race later...not that brave yet.

cool pointers, love the Bathurst track myself (PB is 2.05.665) - use the DS4, always wonder what I'd be able to get with a wheel.

on Bathurst I find I'm slower than a lot of peeps over the top section, maybe a bit more cautious than others, any swipe of a wall strips 0.150s off your time easy..... good lap

This was one of the most difficult gold times for me

Same for me. I breezed through most of them, but this one took me a fair while to get. Recently swapped wheel for controller, after 16 years, which didn't help much either.
