The Forrest Service did the right thing by putting that cat down as it was now a danger to everyone. Humans are not a food source for any animal on the planet, but when an animal thinks that a human is acceptable food, that animal needs to be destroyed. No doubt about it.
Wild animals are naturally wary of humans and avoid human contact at all costs, but when this natural instinct changes, it becomes a threat to all humans anywhere, not just that specific area where the incident happened. Animals travel around, and even more so when they are not intimidated by humans. So maybe it's next victim is a child in a suburban area. Should we not go to our homes now? No. This animal that hunts humans is a rarity, an exception to the rule, and any animal that fills this description should be destroyed post haste.
