mpg to gif?

I'll take care of it...the Unix video player xine offers an option to take screen caps.
 
How does this look? Size can be someone else's issue. This is frame-optimized, I have the original .psd (63 frames) if you want to decrease the framerate.

It doesn't matter whether you have the original, you can still get the frames from the clip. The only thing is that the clip is small and still has a huge file size. By the time you got rid of some of that file size you would have a tiny video clip, pixel wise, the size would barely fit under the 20K limit, if you can get it that small.
 
is there anywhere i can see a tutorial on how to do that?
 
Jasc's Animation Shop can do it. You get it with Paint Shop Pro. It can take an mpg, or part of one, and make it a gif animation.

How can i turn an mpeg into a gif so I can make an avatar? I tried print screen but it wont save the image it just shows a moving video?!?!?!?

i know a method but i havent try the software. it is Windows XP Movie Maker.
you can create what you want film or change the format.
maybe you can try it and then teach me how to operate it.
